Chronology and Battles of the Imjin War (1)- This is not complete battle list and chronology. For example, the battle of Dadaepo (15th April) and some naval battles of YSS are not incorporated. But I tried to collect comprehensive informations.
- Many details of the Imjin War are not mentioned in the drama.
- Every dates mentioned here are always Lunar Calendar.
1592the 13th April-
Konishi Yukinaga's 1st Contingent arrives at Busan (Kyungsang province). The Imjin War starts. - Ep.57the 14th April1)
The Battle of Busanjin Castle (Kyungsang province) - Ep. 57- attack : Konishi Yukinaga (1st Contingent) -> 18,700 men
- defence : Chung Bal -> 500-1,000 men
- Fall of Busanjin Castle
- Garrison Commander Chung Bal is killed by bullet.
- Pak Hong, Commander of Left Kyungsang Navy, flees after sinking all of his battleships and burning up military provisions. Then he sends report of the invasion to Seoul.

- Yi Gak, Commander of Left Kyungsang army and Kim Su, governor of Kyungsang province take flight abandonning Dongrae Castle.

The Battle of Dongrae (Kyungsang) - Ep. 57- attack : Konishi Yukinaga (1st Contingent)
- defence : Song Sang-Hyun -> 2,000 men
- Fall of Dongrae Castle.
- Constable Song Sang-Hyun died.
- 3,000 Chosunese soldiers and civilians are killed and 500 become captive.
- After the collapse of the Castle, Konishi orders to entomb the fallen Costable Song's body outside the castle with a wooden sign to acknowledge his bravery.
the 16th April- YSS receives the reports of Won Kyun about the fall of Busanjin Castle.
the 17th April- The royal court receives reports of the invasion.
the 18th April- The Second Contingent of Kato Kiyomasa lands on Busan.
- Kim Su, governor of Kyungsang province orders Won Kyun to attack the Japanese. But Admiral Won flees after scuttling his battle ships along with arms and artillery to the bottom of the sea.
- Won Kyun retreats toward Sachon.
- YSS receives the reports of Won Kyun about the fall of Dongrae Castle.
3) The Battle of Miryang (Kyungsang)
- attack : Konishi Yukinaga (1st Contingent)
- defence : Pak Jin
- Chosun soldiers guarding the passage are scattered when the Japanese approches them. Constable Pak Jin abandones his fortress and flees after destroying all the weapons in the armory. But he will contribute later to the recovery of Youngchun Castle and Kyungju Castle.
- Fall of Milyang Castle on the following day.
the 19th April- The third Contingent of Kuroda Nagamasa lands on Kimhae and attacks Kimhae Castle. They enters in Right Kyungsang province.
- The 4th - 7th Contingents lands on Busan.
4) The Battle of Kimhae (Kyungsang)
- attack : Kuroda Nagamasa (3rd Contingent) -> 11,000 men
- defence : Seo Ye-Won -> 500-1,000 men
- Fall of Kimhae Castle.
- Constable Seo Ye-Won flees abandonning his fortress. But he will participate in the 2nd battle of Chinju as high Constable {*my translation of the title
moksa*} of Chinju. (He died in this battle. When the Japanese beheaded him, they believed they killed Kim Shi-Min.

the 20th April- Kim Su, Governer of Kyungsang province, askes YSS to send relieving forces. (Won Kyun also asks and will ask YSS several times to rescue him.)
- YSS receives instruction from the central government that provincial commanders can move their troops by their own decision.
the 21th April5) The Battle of Kyungju (Kyungsang)
- attack : Kato Kiyomasa (2nd Contingent) -> 22,800 men
- defence : Pak Ui-Jang
- Fall of Kyungju Castle
the 22th April- Kim Sung-Il, Commander of Right Kyungsang army, is discharged from his post and arrested by king's order. It's because, when he returned from Japan, he reported that there would be no invasion.
Kim Sung-Il
- Kim Sung-Il was acquitted before being brought to Seoul for trial and appointed as recruiting officer. Yu Sung-In is appointed as his successor to the post of Right Kyungsang Army Commander.
