VIB of YSS... i just finished watching episode 8. i am so angry and upset. if i had a replacement and/or the extra money to spend, my computer monitor would have been thrown out the window. arrogant bastard.....i wanted to wipe that nasty smirky smile right off his face. bribery...i cannot tell you how angry this practice makes me. it is incredible what yi soon shin has endured in his very young life already, and to see the man he becomes....it is a wonder...he should have been bitter and hardened and instead he is a man who shoulders the burdens of leadership and makes the tough decisons, not for HIS good, but the good of his country and therefore, ultimately, the people. okay, i am calmer now. the part where he ran into the sea and screamed was indeed reminiscent...hehehe. also, the music at times, reminds me of some of the music in bichunmoo....

yes he is. quite extraordinary. i see you are working on episode 9. i took a quick look at it earlier, saw they were starting with the end of episode 8, and i didn't want to get angry again so i stopped watching. so VIB of YSS...tell me what you think of his father. i have to say i do not like the man. i have no respect for him but maybe i judge him too harshly. and i know i shouldn't judge him at all. but i cannot seem to find much about him that i can feel positively about.

ARGGGGG!!!!
episode 9 i have never had such swinging emotions on a drama series before
more deaths
again characters you didn't know long, but they still got into your heart really fast
cried at least three times
but also uplifting at the end as well
empress LAF,
as for his father
i think he is a very complex man like YSS mother said, don't blame him
we saw how his father was killed unjustly and how he was also labeled a traitor unjustly. i think he just wanted to protect his sons from the same thing. the only way to do that was to prevent them from entering government service (by keeping them from studying). he knew they would be labeled as sons of a traitor and that would prevent them from receiving merit. but against his own personal misgivings, he did free soon shin to go pursue his dreams. and i think that was hard for him. he does love his sons as you can see when he went to the magistrate of asan and told him never to bother his sons again. so in that sense, i understand his intentions and i think he does love his sons. so i respect that he had a difficult life. i mean he had to watch his own father drink poison. that would fcuk me up big time

thanks for the warning about 9. i will prepare myself.
as for the father, thanks for the reminder about his childhood, etc. it does explain a lot and i hate to admit i had forgotten. i think he does love his sons as best he can, but you know, it is still hard to watch him treat them the way he does, and some of the stuff he does. but more understandable now. and yes he free soon shin, so give him credit for that.

viewed episode 9 earlier today VIB of YSS. it was very emotional. from the painful and dejected look on his face after the test results and through to the end.....i cried so hard about the old man and thereafter.
and i can now say i have some positive feeling for his father. that look between them, the nodding of his father's head that said 'i am proud of you'....more tears. it was quite a moment.
i have a few questions about the end.
righting the wrongs....if only more would try to do that.

yes, but that is part of the appeal i suppose and she probably didn't know at the time that the military would rule his marriage Unfortunately, the pretty girl in the ep. 11 preview is not Yi Soon-shin's wife but his first lover. Here is some translation about the character. SPOILER ALERTBak Mi-jin Mi-jin is a foster daughter of Namgung Du who is Yi Soon-shin's martial art master. Mi-jin's family was falsely accused of treason by Yun Won-hyoung, the old minister who entrapped Admiral Yi in episode 1~4. (As you already know, if your family are charged with treason in Chosun period, your social class will also be downgraded to "slave") Mi-jin planned to act out a revenge by learing martial art skills, and met Yi Soon-shin who wanted to learn from Namgung Du. She calls him "Sahyeong(brother)" but she secretly loves him. After her family restored its honor, she wanted to be his wife, but she failed. After becoming a prisoner in the battle with Japanese pirates, she was raped and gave birth to a daughter and died. Bak Cho-hui A half-blooded girl between a Japanese Samurai and Mi-jin. Cho-hui was not welcomed from both Koreans and Japanese. When she lived in Tsusima, the Japanese island near the Korean peninsula, she became a Christian and fell in love with her fellow Korean Christian. But her Korean husband was executed. (I don't know why) After so many sufferings, She got insane and killed her own baby. However, Admiral Yi saved her life and took care of her. She lived like Joan of Arc for the rest of her life, and became the last woman Admiral Yi loved. THE END OF THE SPOILERThese two women are fictional characters. ----------------- According to a news report, some YSS fans are trying to publish a kind of web magazine filled with parodized articles, advertisements, and photos. For examole, here is a hand cream advertisement. (This parody came from the fact that some female YSS fans love the soft hands of Actor Kim Myoung-min. ;D) Maker : Turtel boat corp. Name : Seom-seom-ok-su(an unique expression for girls' beautiful hands) cream. 100% of the price will be paid back if it does not work. (Before - After) Feel the difference! news.naver.com/news/read.php?mode=LSD&office_id=108&article_id=0000001291¡×ion_id=106&menu_id=106

i for one am not a fan of this fictional women thing
i find that what i have read of him makes it impossible to believe that he would do something like what is written in this story line
oh well
i guess i just have to keep reminding myself that this is just a fictional yi soon shin
