I didn't really follow this series very closely, but was sorry that it had such a sad and violent ending Maybe they should have done like "Dallas" and "Newhart" ... made it all the dream of another character with a vivid imagination? Boo! Copout! I thought the ending was exquisite. Sad, yes. Campy copout, no.

The sword thing--she stabbed it in him, Then Jang gets stabbed by Chae-ok Okay I saw Episode 14 again on Tuesday and Chae-ok did not stab him. He took a hold of her hand and stabbed himself, while she was holding the sword. Then when she tried to pull the sword out (after he said I missed you Jaehui) he dug the sword in deeper.

"A far off mountain... A mountain with a deep green forest... A destiny that could not forsee that divide... A love I could not measure... A love that tore my heart apart... Not again...Never again... Do not live for me..."

Wow, bLeuZ, that's a tall order. Poetry interpretation is so personal. I suppose they quoted a famous poet, one that I am not familiar with as a westerner. (I was wondering about the poem myself--I only watched the final episode last week--it's been sitting on my VCR tape all that time.) I'm so glad you typed it here. Tell you what. I'm going to print it out, and think about it for a day, and come back and tell you my interpretation. In the meantime, do you have any ideas?

I'm disappointed in you, bLeuZ, you did not give me your theory. And you, with your evocative name and all. Sigh. I thought about it, and I think the poem is talking about the pain and intense loneliness of love. (Poets adore that sort of dichotomy--love making one unhappy and all.) The speaker seems to be saying, I was lost in this great love (the deep green forest) and could not see the future, that we would be divided. By death, presumably ("that great divide" sounds like a term meaning death). The speaker swears he/she will never, ever again fall into the pain of such love. I think "do not live for me" is talking about the love, not the beloved. That is, I don't want to feel this way, so please, Feelings of Love, fade away, do not stay with me. (Sounds schmaltzy when I say it, doesn't it, not all elegant like the poem does, LOL.) What do you think? Bo

ooppzz sorii....i haven visited here since i posted tat...sori again...i dun realli haf ani idea wat it was abt....tat was y i posted it here in d 1st place..hehhe
aniwae..i actualli tot the first 2 sentence was abt the mountain camp...which makes me feel tat tis poem was abt Sung Baek...bt the last sentence "do not live for me" wasnt tat said by Yoon to Chae Ok in ep 10?? (dun pay attention to wat i've juz said...it's all crap)
AND i also did asked a fren of mine abt tis poem...where he interpreted it as such:
the mountain represents his(or her) love...deep green forest tells tat he tries to hide his feeling...even he try to hide his feeling...the feeling will still comes..and he do not know until when he will be in dat state..cos the love is so deep and yet it hurts him so much...therefore he do nt want the feeling...

Hey, bLeuZ, I was just teasing you about not answering. Your friend's interpretation is similar to mine, I think. I wonder if the poem came from the original comic book. If so, then it would be more specific to "Damo" as you stated. My interpretation is more general, as if the poem were written separately and just used in the drama.
Anyway, it was a nice way to end it. I watched the ending just a few days ago, and it was incredible, I cried like a baby. I really liked it, but was sad that everyone had to die.

Oh, good, Alexa, you, me and bLeuZ can get together in some bar and watch'em again and cry our foolish hearts out, LOL. (Last four episodes? Laws, love, you are a glutton for punishment. I could barely get through reairing of the final episode. A lot of yelling, "he's your brother!" and "no, fool, she loves you!" at the screen, LOL.)
