Oh wait...I just read the thread titled "Episode 14". So did Rebel guy kill Yoon and also Chae-ok and then he killed himself? I'm a little confused because I was just piecing the story together from several posts.

Jang Seong-baek killed Yoon. After Jang stabbed Yoon, Yoon told him that Chae-ok is Jae-hui. Jang is stunned and runs off somewhere. Chae-ok goes towards Jang. He tells her that he'd always wanted to be with her and some other stuff. It was very sad. Then he passes away. Then Jang gets stabbed by Chae-ok. And after he gets stabbed, he tells her, "I missed you...Jae-hui." Chae-ok is horrified. The police people shoot arrows and fire ammo at Jang. Chae-ok runs and hugs him in crossfire. She gets shot at with the ammo and arrows. They are both hugging and getting killed. They fall to the ground together. Chae-ok is admiring her brother's face, "My brother." He passes away first and she passes away afterwards. It was a very sad ending

Then Jang gets stabbed by Chae-ok. And after he gets stabbed, he tells her, "I missed you...Jae-hui." ( I thought he stabbed himself? I saw them fighting, then he grabbed Chae-ok's hand which was holding her sword, and stabbed himself. Or maybe I saw wrong.

They didn't show that part in the beginning of the show did they? Because I didn't remember Chae-ok's sword getting knocked away. They also didn't show as clearly that he was the one who got stabbed, I think, in the beginning.

In the First Episode they didn't show who gets stabbed. They left us in suspense. But in Episode 14, it was clear that SungBaek grabbed the sword and stabbed himself. When he said "I missed you Jaehui" Chae-ok tried to pull the sword out but he digged it in deeper.

Yes, good. I thought that they didn't show it as clearly - but wasn't sure if my eagle-eyes this time were just looking more closely.
Seriously, he didn't need the multiple stab wounds. The first one looked fatal enough (especially if the sword was pulled out).

I never really guessed that they would kill pretty much all the main characters at the end. Plus I thought that she dug it in deeper and then took it out...

That's exactly what I thought. I've never seen a drama like this, all the main characters are gone and everybody else ends up pretty much sad. SungBaek, Chae-ok, and Yoon all died. Even the Kings right hand man, the guy who was always behind the curtain. I felt horrible when the Left Prime Minister stabbed him. That one guy, was truly loyal to the King. Anyways all those people die, then Horseboot ends up alone, Nanhui ends up without the love of her life, will probably never get married. Well at least her dad survived. And the King ends up practically lonely with no one to really trust or confide in.

It's almost like they left out the final tragedy that could be extrapolated from this evil pile of sad - the downfall of the king's empire. Seriously, with all the crap that went on, all the high level people would need to be purged, and without them, there really wouldn't be a support system on which the government would be able to stand.

I thought the ending was so sad!!! Okay, so Chae-ok, a.k.a. Jae-hui, if you hadn't figured out was Jang's sister. The sword thing--she stabbed it in him, but as he said, I miss you...Jae-hui, she gasped, but her put the sword deeper into himself. Chae-ok is admiring her brother's face, "My brother." He passes away first and she passes away afterwards next. It was sooo sad!

I didn't really follow this series very closely, but was sorry that it had such a sad and violent ending Maybe they should have done like "Dallas" and "Newhart" ... made it all the dream of another character with a vivid imagination?
