KOTW though really hits the ground running when Muhyool returns to Goguryeo and is bought into the Royal family . I liked that most of the cast were killed off including Muhyool's sidekick who is tied to a cross and burned alive and how this Dojin guy (the bad one in the triangle ) jumps off cliff killing himself rather than the inevitable showdown .
Some of the characters in Jumong including the evil step brother's storylines are unresolved and you have to see KOTW which wraps everything up as it ends with the fall of Buyeo .

Can't believe Daeso lived that long. He survived Jumong and Yuri.

Whoa, I was just gone for a day! LOL. I agree on the battle scenes, that's one of the things (among others) I found so hilarious in Jumong. Their "armies" were about 8 men, tops. I guess we can allow for armies being smaller at the time, but 8 guys? Come on. If they attacked a village, the people could just kick them a lot and poof no problem. Har...

Can't believe Daeso lived that long. He survived Jumong and Yuri. I was a little disappointed in his death in KOTW, since the end of Jumong said that he was killed by the grandson. I think he just committed suicide after he was defeated. Not very exciting.

Actually, Buyeo didn't fall that time. Daeso's Buyeo continued to exist until it was conquered by King Gwanggaeto. There were 4 Buyeos. North Buyeo - the origin of Jumong. Conquered by Goguryeo in 491. East Buyeo - The Buyeo in MBC Jumong and KOTW. Conquered by Gwanggaeto's Goguryeo in 410 Jolbon Buyeo - Goguryeo's another name South Buyeo - Baekje's new name. King Sung changed the name of Baekje to South Buyeo after all the other Buyeos fell. Baekje's family name was Buyeo as well.

Can't believe Daeso lived that long. He survived Jumong and Yuri. It's not Daeso that lived long. Jumong and Yuri lived short. Jumong died at 39 and Yuri died at 56.

Let's also remember that "fleet of chariots" which led the massive army. Somewhere I read that KOTW was based more on the mythology of time then fact, as there was not alot to research. Figured that was why the king's throneroom was a bit like the helm of the Starship Enterprise, and the costumes many times were modernistic. Still, KOTW and Jumong at their base story showed how advanced the East was compared to Europe. As for Song II Guk, if he has been low key, his wife delivered tripletts (all boys), in the Spring.

No, it was based on the Comic Book and online game with the same name. I've never read the comic book, but I played the online game multiple times.

I don't know if it's just me but I really feel sorry for Ye Soya, I feel tdt even if jumong didn't really like her he wld ve still showed an atom of care. Ye soya went thru a lot cos of jumong,I know dt if it was so seo no dt was in dt situation dt ye soya was in jumong wld ve looked for her. I blame jumong for ye Soya's predicament. And I didn't really feel d connection BTW him and so seo no. All I'll say is dt ye soya shd avoid anyone with the name jumong,or with d looks of jumong in her next life.

Welcome lexy! Nice of you to join; always glad to find someone else that likes historicals. What did you think of the series overall? Was surprised to have Jumong mentioned here so long after it aired.
