Everyone seems to end up happy, but I think we fans of MPC, are going to miss this family drama. I've come to really look forward to their successes and happiness as well as to their problems. There's a different culture, but we can all identify with their day to day lives.
There are so many issues that need to be resolved. Maybe there will be, sometime in the future, a second series of MPC. Americans do long for family dramas that resemble the lives that most of us are leading.

Sorry to hear you are sad, Sandy, but I have never been so happy to have a drama end. This was without a doubt the worst daily drama, or any drama for that matter, I have ever seen. To be honest, I didn't even watch the last weeks of MPC. I thought that the Yeonji plot would re-capture my interest, but no, that got pretty ridiculous too.

I so agree with you galacticchick! Along about 6:20 I was expecting a 'TEN YEARS LATER" thing. there were so many loose ends.... I hope Feed-Me-Guy appears in another drama... something historic where he overseas the food supply for the military.
Glad it's over. usually I kinda go thru a withdrawal because I miss a character or two. Not this time.
even Grandma...
Amen!

Although I'm happy that MPC has ended, I must admit that I felt a bit sad as I watched the last scene where Jin-kook and Hee-soo were standing outside the villa looking out at the scenery. I loved those flashbacks of JK's HS's of how they met and how HS was so fixed on having JK has her own. What I wished to see was maybe a 5 year or so flash forward. I wanted to see how things would be for the MPC ppl.

I loved those flashbacks of JK's HS's of how they met and how HS was so fixed on having JK has her own. Me, too. I loved Jin-kook and Hee-soo, there was so much promise for that storyline. I think it would have been a much better drama if they had focused on JK and HS getting to know eachother, since they were two strangers who got married for unusual reasons. I think the writers had to change the story near the begining of the show, because of the fans' reaction. I read an article translated by Purpletiger86 (on her MPC site) about how the fans were disturbed by the fact that Hee-soo would sell her soul for a house, and how two-faced ESM was. I guess they had to soften up these plotlines. I feel so sorry for you, Sandy! I know how heartbreaking it is to see your first K-drama end. You grow so attached to the characters. It will be hard for you to watch the next drama, but give it a few weeks (you'll have to force yourself ). You'll like the new one as much as MPC. OK, here's my final assessment: I was happy with:The change in Min-sup and Jae-min's mom. They were both so creepy and obnoxious in the begining. But being blind changed JM's mom and tutoring Jin-soo changed MS into more likeable characters. Jin-kook's dad finally saw the truth about ESM. The way he treated her after he saw the movie was very satisfying, I just wish he would have kept it up. That's about it for the likes. Now... I was unhappy with:ESM's diabolical plan. I expected those three to blow up the center of the earth, for all the time and effort put into their pathetic plan. It doesn't take 16 years and one son to ruin a family and steal their fortune. Three years, tops. Grandma's condition. I really didn't like the way everyone laughed at what she would say, as if it were cute that her mind had deteriorated so much. Ji-woong. That kid was such a snot-nosed brat. I wish I could have seen him sitting in time out at least once. Min-ie's birth mom becoming Ji-hae's fanclub leader. Shouldn't this woman move on with her life, instead of reviewing every move Ji-hae made? Band-aid. I just had to mention this pointless plot. And finally, How did Ji-eun pay for all of that stuff after her sister stole that money!?! (That one's for Galacticchic. ) Bring on My Sweetheart!

Let's blame the horrible story lines on him. p.s. I'm so ticked off. I kept thinking all last week that I had a question to ask you, Jenny and I kept thinking and thinking that I was going to ask you a question and now I can't remember what I was going to ask you. Grr.

I REMEMBER! I was going to ask you how that KoreanDVDMovie.com place worked out for you. The one that has a Netflix type system.

Jenny, I did watch the last few months of a Korean drama where the main character always seemed so sad. It turned out that she had had a child, fell in love with a man, but was rejected by his family. In the end, she was able to bring her child into a new family. Here in Chicago, there's nothing published in the Tribune's TV guide about Channel 28.
I must admit that some of the scenarios from MPC were incredible. For one, I just couldn't understand how Jae-hae could become a star over night. Jae-hae had no experience in acting, but suddenly becomes famous? Also, how could Eun-soo suddenly become known with his books being published? Do Jin-soo's parents really think that he'll have a normal relationship with Yeong-ji?
However, it was really entertaining watching each episode. I think it was a great success.

Hmm, Sandy, that sounds an awful lot like Yellow Handkerchief. (We all loved that show to death.) If so, I'm glad you got to see that, because it was one of the best. Of course, it also sounds like Who's My Love... Your points on Eun-soo, Yeon-ji and Jee-hae were right on, too. Jenny pretty much covered my objections to the drama...I especially liked your point about the evil plan taking too long. Too much HAH HAH HAH moustache-twirling and not enough ACTION, I suppose! Bo

I was thinking about MPC this morning, and believe it or not, I miss it! Now that there's a little distance between me and its various stupidities, I think the show was interesting as a slice of life. It was, I grant you, a more dramatic and not completely realistic slice of life, but the unusual thing about it was that nothing in it ever really ended, except maybe the love story/family conflict of Hee-soo and Jin-kook. What we got was a long-term look at people's problems and the kind of life issues that do come up and maybe never get fully resolved: Jin-soo's disability and growth, Grandma's mental deterioration, the open-ended semi-dissatisfaction of Jee-hae's parents' marriage, Jung-ae's lack of fulfillment and longstanding resentments, the second marriage of Eun-soo. These are all realistic problems, and some of the annoying loose ends (Band-aid is the prime example) are arguably just further examples of that. Stuff comes and goes but people find ways of hanging in there together. I don't know--if anyone else but me and Bo is still reading this board, do you have any feelings about what I've said? I may be forgiving too much in my nostalgia and forgetting the day-to-day stupidity that I found tooth-grindingly annoying at the time.

There must be a gas leak in your building that is making you delusional, Lucy. I'm so glad that it's over and I don't miss it one bit.

Honestly, it maybe because I am having a hard time liking "My Sweetheart." I just want to fast-forward past all the Hyun-kyu scenes. And the ski area? Do they think they're in "Winter Love Song" or something? More Min-jae! I demand more Min-jae NOW!
