I watched the episode where Young-lan really treated Jung-hee as a stupid woman. She told Eun-soo that he should separate from Jung-hee if she wanted help from him. Then she told Jung-hee to "keep her hands off" Ji-woong. What's with Young-lan? Is she so ambitious and self-absorbed that she doesn't realize how fortunate she is to have Jung-hee care for her son as a mother would?
Then we see Eun-soo asking his mother to check out prices in stores, so as to appease her, making her feel important in writing his books. It just irritated me when Jung-hee was massaging her MIL's neck, then told by Eun-soo to go make tea. I think Jung-hee is seeing herself as nothing more than a maid for her in-laws, and a surrogate mother for Ji-woong. Perhaps Jung-hee will come to realize that Eun-soo still has a dependent relationship with his mother and with his ex-wife.
Right now, Eun-soo is acting like a spoiled brat only looking out for himself.

I don't think Eun-soo does love Jung-hee, but maybe with time he will. I don't know why we married her. Was it because of his mom pressuring him, he needed someone to watch Ji-woong while he writes his book (what a selfish jerk!), or to get back at Young-lan for leaving him? And just when I thought Young-lan and Jung-hee were getting along ! My goodness! This whole entire family should just go on the Jerry Springer Show or something! What Jung-hee probably feels: She loves Eun-soo and Ji-woong and is happy to be apart of the family. She doesn't like Young-lan that much because she looks down on her and works with Eun-soo. What Young-lan probably feels: She still loves Eun-soo and somewhere deep down inside her heart, she wants to get back with him and raise Ji-woong together. She is overprotective of Ji-woong because she is jealous that Ji-woong might someday want to be with Jung-hee and his dad instead of be with his mom. As for her looking down on Jung-hee, she has no right to do this! And yes, Young-lan should be happy to have someone like Jung-hee be a stepmom to Ji-woong. I mean, look at all the hell Jin-kook had to go thru b/c of his evil stepmom!

I think you are right, Lovely, eventually, Eun-soo will come to love Jung-hee, in the long-term sense, not crazy romance sense. In previous centuries and in other countries than ours, that situation was/is much more desirable. I think ES's feelings for JH are complicated. He wanted an at-home mom for his son, not just to "watch" him but to love him and provide a guiding hand. His son truly loves JH, and she him. He felt protective toward JH (she did seem like a delicate flower at first, didn't she?). He was given a couple of outs for the relationship, and he didn't take them; if he was not sure when his ex-wife came back into his life, there was no reason to rush into the marriage. It reminds me of Tae-young and Myr-rung on YH; she wasn't his first romantic choice or maybe even the better person, but she turned out to be the best choice for him. Bo

Remember that Jung-hee is not well-spoken, so what she does say probably takes a lot of planning and concentration on her part, to get it so it comes out right. But her mind is as sharp as anyone's; I remember the other day after Eun-soo said something dumb (Hey, what else does he say ;D), she shot him a look that was downright poisonous!

One of her brothers should come over and beat him up. Which reminds me...isn't that one of those empty plot lines, what her family's business is about?

They say she's not well spoken because she talks slowly, in short sentences, and not often. Apparently after the accident, she didn't talk for a really long time and has started getting better recently but is still not gregarious.
Personally, I'm on Younglan's side. I remember a long time ago that Junghee told her (with regards to Jungae) that she would start off on a good foot with her and then assert herself. This is what she's been doing with both Jungae and Eunsoo - she doesn't do all of her chores, she goes with Eunsoo to watch over him, she gossips with his mother about him, and she sometimes says that she won't do things that she asks. I think she definitely has her own agenda but can hide it well under her quiet exterior. Younglan, on the other hand, is outspoken and *honest.* And, despite how her outburst sounded (no tact) when she said that she wouldn't help someone else's husband for free, it's true. Why would she help him make money when she wasn't reaping any of the benefits? I think that she was justified in demanding a commission and, though she phrased it badly (especially with Junghee around) she had every right to demand what she did. And Junghee acted like a little brat when she went to wake up Jiwoong - she showed that she wasn't above using him as a tool in her machinations with Eunsoo or Younglan.

Yeah, the accident did knock something loose in her head, as Hachiue explains.
