I'm starting to feel that Eun Soo isn't such a good author. The book he wrote was pretty much based on someone's life story changed one part, made it fiction and claimed the whole book was a fiction book. Plus, in the episode on Wednesday he was practically groveling at Young-Ian's feet for ideas for his new book. This is my opinion but I want to know what other people think.

Eunsoo: I divorced you and married another woman but please help me succeed anyway because I'm not good enough to do it on my own.
Younglan: Sure here's an idea.
Eunsoo: Thanks! (claims it as his own) I'm rich now! Okay, time for another idea from dang-shin!
Younglan: (in rags because she's been living off her inheritance and Jinkook's business failed) Write a story about how you stole ideas from other people and profited from them while not compensating them.
Eunsoo: Great! Thanks!

Too funny, Hachiue! I agree. I was thinking how Young-lan is so perceptive about people (especially, and probably exclusively, about their failings). She totally has Eun-soo's number as far as his not having a clue how to capitalize on his unexpected, and mostly undeserved, success.
He lucks into some great material for a novel and is assured that it will be turned into a film before he even finishes it. To his credit, he works hard on it, and it gets published immediately and becomes a best-seller. Wow. So what he does with this incredible good fortune is sit back and start questioning himself and whining about how he doesn't have any ideas. You can really see that his big character flaw is lack of gumption, just as Young-lan always said. But he doesn't bother working on that, just continues looking around for crutches. I'd like to see him develop some kind of spine and character. He already disappointed one wife; is he going to step up to the plate and make his family proud, or continue to drift? And By The Way! The other night he whined to Young-lan, "they want a mystery thriller." Excuse me, buddy, but that is exactly what you used to say you dreamed about: being a mystery writer! Geez-o-pete. Only Eun-soo could have a career handed to him on a platter and still complain about it.

what was up with jung-hee this friday? she's not ji-woong's mom. she can't jsut wake him up and say yl isn't a good mom when all she does is STUFF him to fatness. that isn't being exactly the paragon of motherhood. (pardon my spelling) i mean, then she's gotta act all "well, i'm the weakling and i'm hurt..." and the mother..... STAY OUT OF People's Affairs!!!!!!!

After Friday's episode, Eun-soo doesn't seem very capable of getting an idea, then working it into a novel. It seems he depends on Young-lan to develop his ideas for him.
Young-lan is smart, but yet she has a mean-streak in her. She poses the idea that her ex and Jung-hee should separate since she doesn't want to her ex to profit from her ideas while he's married to another woman. Young-lan should be happy that Jung-hee loves her son as her own since she wants to have a career of her own. Poor Ji-woong is caught in her trap.
Jung-ae should just mind her own business. She grills Jung-hee about why her son visits his ex so often. Jung-hee just wants to live a normal life taking care of her family without all this mess that her husband has gotten her into. Hee-soo is in the same predicament. She marries into a very dysfunctional family that she's tried to help, but continually gets caught in their misery.
Eun-soo has a lot of problems to deal with. It seems that he's dependent on the women in his life.

It seems that he's dependent on the women in his life. he's dependent on the women in his life? he practically lives off of their opinions *hinting to YL*and despite the fact that he says he is going to take care of things on his own...what does he mean exactly? Running to YL for help? he's not much of a man, he's a coward. After all that YL had to undergo in his house, you'd think he's stop treating her life some sort of one-eyed demon.

I agree that Eun-soo is being pretty pampered by the all the women in his life. His mom tells him what to do, Young-lan entices him with ideas, Jung-hee takes care his son, and Hee-soo gave him the material, from her dysfunctional family, for a book.
I just wonder how Eun-soo would make it on his own. He wouldn't be an author, but maybe a salesman in a retail store, maybe in his cousins' cosmetic store.

After the way he "solved" the argument that YL and JH where having, I pretty much lost the remaining respect I had for him. He's such a loser.
Younglan is smart, saavy and everything else you want, but she's also very mean. I thought she'd mellowed out, but she was totally out of line on friday.

Now that i think about it some more, Galacticchick, i think you're right. YL had no right to tell Jung-hee that she couldn't stand to see her face because she's stupid. that's just mean..... nobody should have to have their feelings hurt like that. YL was "nice" for a period of time, i guess that was very short-lived.

YL was "nice" for a period of time, i guess that was very short-lived. I would have punched her or something. I cheered for JH when she questioned YL's mothering abilities. I don't know anymore...all three of them need to go into counseling or something because if they keep up their pettiness JW is going to grow up with some issues.

And so the membership of the Younglan fanclub decreases to 1. Yeah, she's rude. But at least she's honest. And I don't really think she was flirting with Eunsoo, just joking around with him. There was really no reason for Junghee to yell at her for asking for payment for her ideas. Younglan was out of line for yelling at Junghee but Junghee was out of line for yelling at her, calling her a bad mother, and waking up Jiwoong. All Junghee did with her actions was to encourage her husband to visit Younglan *alone* (like he did with the contract) instead of with her.

I was so mad when Jung-Hee tried to wake Ji-Woong up and then called Young-Ian a bad mother. I mean, who wants to hear something like that? Young-Ian has to work to pay for rent and food because Eun-Soo isn't providing for her so she doesn't have much time to spend with Ji-Woong. All Jung-Hee cares about is getting Ji-Woong fat while Young-Ian tries to do the opposite. And Jung-Hee is really getting me mad because of how she said that she had nothing against Ji-Woong's mom anymore when she did. But I do give Jung-Hee cresit for telling Eun-Soo that all he cared about was his mom.

And so the membership of the Younglan fanclub decreases to 1. No, 2; I'm still OK with her. The good thing about Young-lan is you can always be pretty sure you've seen the worst of her. Everyone has faults; hers is that she's got a big mouth and not much compassion. The coin has two sides: if you like her honesty and desire to stand up for herself, you've gotta accept it when she goes too far. She's a pretty useful character in this drama, and she's always fun to watch. That gal is a tigress.
