I know we've all said this before, but I wish the writers would use Jin-soo more, like they did earlier in the show. I particularly liked the part where DD and ESM were cutting down Hee-soo, and he said, "I like Hee-soo." I wished he'd said more; they didn't know how to respond to him and just looked at each other dopily.
Also, later, after they eavesdropped on HS's phone conversation with her husband and were walking out to the car, repeating phrases of it, I was sure that Jin-soo thought they were actually praising Hee-soo and would say something like, "Yes! Hee-soo is pretty! Hee-soo is kind!" But the writers let that opportunity slip by.
Darned lazy writers. Hmph.

It was great how Jin-soo kept saying, "Mommy is bad" all the time after his mom made those phone calls to her late brother. JS only said "I like Hee-soo" two times, but in a smiling kind of tone. Next time he should say, "I like Hee-soo" strongly and then add, "Mommy and Daddy are bad." Now that should really surprise those two goofs.

It just irks me when EMS treats Hee-Soo like some servant, even DD. If it weren't for HS, Jin-Soo wouldn't have found happiness in painting. HS took JS to her uncle, Min-Sup for art lessons. I've noticed how MS tries to treat JS as a person capable of learning something while Mom and Dad, even though they take him places, don't spend any quality time with him. Dad, in one episode, was playing silly hand games while Mom seems to let JS watch TV.
Granted, JS can't do much in life, but HS has tried to make life real for him.

Yesterday's singing episode was funny. Jinsoo didn't sound as bad as Minsup was implying, defninitely better than some of the people who try out for American Idol.

Yeah, HS was the one that wanted JS to go to a school where he could develop his skills. She saw that JS was talented when it comes to origami. There was one episode way, way back when HS told ESM that she should enroll JS in a school where he could study and learn. ESM's response, "Why?! So all the other kids could laugh and make fun of him hin school?!" No, you bad, bad woman! So JS could learn more about art! And HS was the one that arranged for her uncle to help JS with his art. I think ESM did thank HS before about it, but DD never said a word. All he does all day is sit around (if not going out) and just be easily manipulated by his foxy, evil wifey, "Yes, dear...whatever you say is gold. And yes, I'll have a talk with that bad daughter-in-law of mine about the gold bars!"

Tonight ESM had a fantasy about a 'normal' Jin-soo, and it demonstrated the adage about "Be careful what you wish for. "Jin-soo! get up and study! You know college is hard to get into!" "Oh, Ma! just give me ten more minutes!" Jin-soo sounded very Min-sup-like. Then ther was a commercial, and Jae-min and Ji-hye are leaving their aprtment, discussing something their Dad said, but we didn't see. I had read about the ESM/Jin-soo scene last week on the Yahoo! group, and it apparently went on a bit longer. Not to mention, what did Jae-min's Dad say This better be restored in the re-airing (and they've been rather good about not cutting stuff out lately; I hope this is an isolated incident).

yeah i thought some scenes were cut out but wasnt entirely sure...
i thought it was kind of weird how the daydream came out of nowhere... makes me wonder what led to this daydream and where the writers are trying to take it...

Yeah, I was also feeling that ESM's daydream was going to continue because she had that spazzy look on her face. Those darn commercials ! The next scene was Jae-min and Jee-hae coming out of their house. I really wanted to see the rest of ESM's daydreams! I wonder if there was one of Hee-soo being a servant-like DIL and also Jin-kook giving her the gold bars back?! LOL....b/c in Jung-ae's daydreams, she got everything she wanted!

they didint cut out the scene in philly. the rest of the day dream was basiaclly jin-soo getting dressed up to sneak out and go on a date with a girl. esm catches him and says "you should be studying and not out with thoes girls" (or something like that) and jin soo says "but mom the girls chase me (grins)" then he leaves out the door while esm smiles and have this "thats my boy" look on her face.
it was pretty funny.

After what Panther said, we saw the Koh family waiting for Hee-soo to arrive, so they could leave for Jung-hee's parents' house. Ji-woong says he wants to go with, but Jung-ae explains why he can't.
After Hee-soo arrives, Ji-woong watches the tape of Young-lan, as Hee-soo looks on with concern.
We then see the Kim family eating breakfast. Ji-hye and Jae-min are telling his parents their plans for openning the store. Dae-suk hints that he thinks Jae-min should work for someone else, and Ji-hye should raise Ji-min and do housework. Sun-ja points out that houswork lacks social interaction, and that they should all share their resposibilities.
Then is where we picked up after the commercial last night.

D'oh! I think this is the first time MPC has been edited! I hope that KBC doesn't think they can chop up our eppys now that they've buttered us up with prizes. Especially since I didn't win. I would have loved to have seen day-dream Jin-soo sneaking out of the house! And Jae-min's papa better realize that Baby Min is his wife's, not his DIL's. Ji-hae was cornered into taking in that kid.

Yeah, it was Jae-min's mom who wanted to adopt Baby Jee-min. Jee-hae was not happy about it when she woke up from her coma, but now accepts the idea. Jae-min's dad should not be demanding his DIL to be staying home doing housework...he's sounding like DD ! I would have loved to see the scene of Jin-soo sneaking out on his date! Thanks for telling us about the rest of the scenes, Panther and Soju!

I saw the daydream of ESM, sitting by a sleeping Jin-Soo, thinking of him as a teen who doesn't want to get up to go to school. I guess we won't see the scene of JS sneaking out to go on a date. I think EMS realizes what the impact of having a mentally-handicapped child will mean in the future. Golfer Dad is old, quite content to play games or watch TV with JS, but ESM is still young enough to watch JS become an adult. I think we're being shown what a really difficult life ESM has had. She loses her parents in an accident, has a mentally handicapped child, then loses her physically handicapped brother to death. ESM will have to care for a mentally handicapped adult in the future, watching him talk simply and playing games while Hee-Soo's twins, who will probably be normal advance in life.

If that is the case for ESM, no wonder she is so mean to Hee-soo. Because she's jealous of what she has and will have in the future...just like HS's aunt said.
