i don't know whether this is intentional or not, but it seems to me like jung-hee keeps swinging her body back and forth when she talks. like she's about to blow or something.

I wouldn't interpret JH's behaviour as fighting for her man. She is more enamoured with JW than with his father, which she acknowledged in an earlier episode. ES is merely a useful attachement to her principal interest, JW.
El's comment on her mil's treatment of her was very revealing. Did ES witness these events &, if so, how did he respond? Did he protect & defend her, as he did JH's outburst towards El. As they are divorced, one can assume he took the path of least resistance.

I agree with you there, that he probably took the path of least resistance. When Jung-ae was having her flashbacks (trying to think of Hee-soo as her DIL and Young-lan as her daughter) it showed her yelling at Young-lan, and Eun-soo bowing out rather than defending her so that Young-lan had to defend herself.

It seems like in the past few days they are starting to develop this story line. Jung-ae appears to be almost nearly about to accept Young-lan, and Jung-hee realizes that Ji-woong doesn't love her as a mother, so she'll have to be a bit more proactive in persuing Eun-soo. Young-lan and Jung-hee are in competition. The winner gets Ji-woong. The loser gets Eun-soo ;D

Yes, it seems like Jung-ae is starting to show Young-lan a little kindness...even though she does it in a funny way like tossing the house clothes at Young-lan while she was making kimchi. Jung-ae realized that Young-lan helped her a lot with the kimchi.
Jung-hee does get along really well with Ji-woong, but nobody compares to his mother, Young-lan. I actually wanted Jung-hee to come back home with Ji-woong when Young-lan, Eun-soo, Jung-ae, and Jung-ae's husband were busy making kimchi. I don't know why, but I thought it would be a good scene.
