Hey someone posted this on the KBFD board about wild peacocks running around certain areas of the island of Oahu...thought I'd embellish the story slightly to include the old General. ;D the.honoluluadvertiser.com/article/2004/Aug/06/ln/ln03a.htmlLast week's killing of nine peacocks in the Waimea Valley Audubon Center outraged animal-rights activists and people familiar with the park. They pointed to the park's long-standing association with the showy birds: how the park logo once featured a peacock and the now-shuttered restaurant was called "The Proud Peacock." People across the state complained that the center should have tried harder to deal with the birds more humanely than killing them with bow and arrow. The center's director has apologized for the killing and said it was a mistake. "I mean, I did have second thoughts about it," said director Barry Santos. "But the archer was incredible. He was this old Korean guy with long gray hair and a beard. Before I even finished talking he picked off three of them in a row, and we were about 80 yards away from the birds! So I thought since he got started he might as well finish the job." Asked for the archer's name, Santos said "I think it was Du something or other. Quiet guy. After I paid him he just turned around and walked slowly away and kept grunting something in Korean over and over. It always ended with '...ee nom' or something like that. But hey if we ever need to get rid of something or someone with a bow and arrow again we've got our man."

Chung Kyun, you CAN have a hand in justice. Every little bit you do to help counts.
