I was just curious - where and how does everyone watch their Age of Warriors? Do you watch it on a gigantic 54 inch tv with surround sound or on smaller, plainer 13 inch one? Is your reception good? Do you watch alone or with other people? Do you watch laying in bed, stretched out on the sofa, or at the edge of your seat in a chair? In what room of your home do you watch? Do you eat while you watch or answer the telephone or do homework or fold laundry? Or do you need absolute silence and undivided attention? Do you exclaim aloud when it is on or do you remain seriously silent, taking it all in? And what kind of interruptions present themselves to you when you are watching?

wow lotta Q's eowyn.
let's see,
i watch on a tiny tv with extra long antennae, usually engaged in some sort of calisthetic contortion act to get optimal reception.
if i don't have to sit with one hand on the tv and one leg off the ground i am usually on my bed (especially lately with all the fun characters being gone - now i draw or surf the web while the show is on, never did that when Kyung Dae Seung was on)
i laugh out loud at a few scenes (minister moon cracking up in the central committee) but for the most part don't say anything unless my granny calls to ask me what i think.
and my family knew better than to interrupt me during AOW or Dae Jang Geum (grrrr)
and how do you watch it?

Not too impressive but it works for me. Is your reception good? Decent unless there is a bad storm. Do you watch alone or with other people? Nope. My BF is not really into it. He was a GJG fan. Do you watch laying in bed, stretched out on the sofa, or at the edge of your seat in a chair? Edge of my chair er futon of course. In what room of your home do you watch? Living room on the futon. Do you eat while you watch or answer the telephone or do homework or fold laundry? Or do you need absolute silence and undivided attention? I sometimes eat. I never answer the phone. If it's important they can leave a voice mail. But then I often don't answer the phone unless I really want to talk to the person I see on the caller ID. Do you exclaim aloud when it is on or do you remain seriously silent, taking it all in? Oh I talk to the TV like the characters can really hear me. CRAZY? And what kind of interruptions present themselves to you when you are watching? Not very many. I don't answer the door either.

I was fun reading your replies. I watch on a 27 inch tv that my mom gave me. My reception is usually perfect. The station cut out a few times once and I yelled out Nooo! I watch alone on the edge of the sofa in what I call the sitting room. My condo is small, so the tv is only abou 6 ft. from the sofa. I always feel like I'll miss something if I lay own on the sofa. I always wear my glasses to read the subitles. I don't eat when I watch - too late, acid reflux disease - or do anything else. I need undivided attention! And I exclaim aloud a lot. chigirl, I would love to watch AOW with you! A few times my brother called me at about 8:45, but when 9 o'clock hit, I promptly shouted out - Ding Ding Ding, my show's on, gotta go! He found that funny. velvet ink brush, who is your granmother's favorite character? KDS?

Yesterday he was watching the Allstar game in the bedroom and he came out asking who I was talking to. "The TV of course". Eoywn we could wear matching T-shirts! ;D It would be great to get an Aow get together but Mon or Tue is difficult to plan a viewing party. The Jang-geum was pretty easy being on a Sat.

yap KDS was our favourite. when i told her that he was doomed to die she was so surprised that I knew (guess she thought i didn't read korean history) but she would call me every monday and tuesday and say "don't forget kyung dae seung is on tonight" if i wasn't at my family's house watching it with her.
sigh
KDS was my favourite until i laid eyes on min jong ho from dae jang geum - it should be a crime to be as handsome as he.
strangely, i prefer neither in the modern era. need the costumes and beards (and swords / spears don't hurt either)

my boyfriend wouldn't really watch with me either, even though it was subtitled. but he knew the name of the show. every monday he'd call and ask, hey is moo in shi dae on? he always mispronounced it too. I always told him, come on, watch it and you can learn korean but he preferred surfing the internet
man i'd get so mad at him if he accidentally moved my antenna (i'd spend like 30 minutes readjusting it)

I think it was more his character that was so attractive about him.

I watch on a 27" crt tv I got for christmas. This works out since my vision is not too great. I had Cablevision, but something was screwy with the signal so I couldn't tape the show. Now I have digital service through my phone company, so I can tape it. The picture's a little snowy, but it's a good tradeoff. I have eaten while watching, but I need the subtitles, and I like to take in as much of the expressions as I can, so if I eat, there's no way to look at the food. I don't answer the phone, which is usually a friend who wants to point out that the show's on. Normally I'm by myself, but I have had company. I don't mind comments, but I don't like it when jokes are made when the characters die. I'll admit I'll comment to the characters and make remarks. How can you not? I put the sound up to as loud as it can go without vibrating the hardware. I sit about 10 feet from the TV with my dog, Jack. Jack doesn't watch much. He probably thinks the show could use some dogs. Recently, I was playing bass at a party, and it was getting toward time to get home to watch the show. I said I had to leave. Asked why, I said "the Archfiend's holding an axe over the emperor, and Choi Coong Hon is up to something big, so I have to get back before something happens." People thought that was just my bizarre humor at work. Later they were mad when they found out I left to watch AOW. I pointed out that I told them.

Yeah chigirl, matching t-shirts! ;D velvet ink brush - that is so cute that your grandma would remind you to watch our KDS. MasterCrabby - I do that too - say I have to get going coz CCH is on the prowl or something and people just look astonished and confused - they just don't understand. luvarchfiend - as for the characters not doing what you want them to do, I always find that the characters don't do what I predict they'll do. I enjoyed reading all the replies.

hardcore, man I watch in the living room on a 32" Sony which is twelve or so years old. I'm an old movie freak so for me the tv was a necessity rather than an extravagance. It's hooked up to what's left of the roof antenna that I installed when I got the set. The picture (from UHF channel 17) is good but grainy enough that we don't usually record the show. We're hopeful of an eventual DVD release. I'm seated on one end of the sofa and my step-daughter is usually on the other end (she is a member here but I'll conceal her i.d. until I get clearance). When AOW comes on my wife usually leaves to watch on a set in another room because of the intensity of the viewing experience. She also claims that she objects to the profound comments I make during the show such as "Whoa!" and "Did you see that !" or "I wanna see what _______ is going to do now!" There are times when my step-daughter also retreats to another room to watch. They also seem oddly embarrassed when I brandish the toy battle axe that I got at the 99 cent store (to support The Archfiend in moments of crisis) or the one time I put my hair in a topknot and headband. (Believe me, it's not that big a stretch because I have a long pony-tail anyway.) Because of my rigid self-training as a film buff I never eat while watching anything but in AOW's case it's especially critical to pay close attention because of the subtitles. It is the tv focal point of our week and no interruptions are tolerated. All chores and activities are scheduled around the two showings on Sat. and Sun. evenings. I think this thread was a great idea, Eowyn, and I look forward to reading other peoples accounts of how they take in this exceptional program.
