Recently, I've just watched the duel of Archfiend and KDS, so it's not yet time to give my vote. I guess I'm the most late one among AOW fans.
I'm watching AOW on KBS website, but it's difficult follow episodes with 56kb VOD. My eyes become heavy after viewing one or two episodes. IYSS is more comfortable to view because I can see 300kb free VOD before it's pulled out two weeks after being aired. There are also 700kb VODs for AOW and IYSS, but it's not free and my modem is not such a powerful one.
BTW, I'm astonished, like others, at the fact that Archfiend and KDS are not figured on the list.

Joey Giardello-aka Carmen Tillelli. Man i have seen every episode of all these korean dramas. It was so easy to get hooked. I hope there are more on the way Nicely done Kimchee! Are you a boxing enthusiast or just a Joey Giardello fan? Is there a specific time period of interest to you? Sorry to have dissappointed you florel! As I've said, KDS probably belongs in there. After Minister Moon however, I do not know who I would place under the Archfiend on that list. Although you haven't seen him yet, the Young Emperor is probably a small enough role that Yi Ui-Min should take his place on the list. If I could change I would folks. You have my apologies!

In my new home (in a place where I can't get Korean dramas anymore) I can only look back wistfully at the AOW era. It was the greatest dramatic television show I ever saw and I now I fear I may never see it's equal. Who was my favorite actor or actress. This is a close call, but I think I'd cast my vote for the Empress Dowager. She was a power in many episodes, from her political maneuvering early, to her guts to face down all of the royal enemies, to her sentimental side (the visit to Chung Jung Bu in prison was huge). Close second would go to Choi Choonghon followed by Yi Ui Bang, but I can certainly understand the votes for Chung Kyun. He was the perfect villain. What was superb about both his acting and the screenwriting is that, we all remember him for him being a villain, but he really didn't first appear in the show that way, so he sort of gradually grew into that villain. Masterful indeed.

Remember when she pushed all the dishes off the tables at the banquet that the Emperor gave during KDS's funeral? "If I had strength to swing a sword..." Awesome. Then there was another scene, one heartwrenching to watch, where she broke down, blaming herself for things that had gone down.

I really didn't like the Empress Dowager at first, but that is a credit to her acting. I agree that the scene at the banquet and her visit to Chung Jung Bu were two of the most moving scenes in the series.
One scene that I found moving was in episode 157. After CCH was forced to exile Jaunson she was executed. CCH sat laughing and crying at the same time, as he considered all that he had done and been through up to that moment. It was as though he knew that he had become a monster, but had already come too far to turn back. Kim Gap Soo came with a masterful performance as Choi Choong Hon.
For my taste, however, the most powerful moment was Yi Ui-Bang's realization of himself as he hid out in the cave, awaiting his own death. The ensuing dream sequence in which he was confronted by Yi Ko added to the impact of that scene as well.

I'm glad to see Kim Gap-soo winning the poll. seven stars, is AOW over in Philadelphia now?

Well, help me out here Eowyn. It's my understanding that there are 158 episodes. If I am correct in that assumption, then there is one episode left and it will show on Thursday.
;DWHAT AN UNBELIEVABLY INCREDIBLE SERIES! ;D
Someone mentioned on another thread, that they may show it a second time here in Philly. WYBE did this with EWG. If so, I will be taping the entire series.
Kim Gap Soo is an awesome actor!

That's right, 158 episodes, seven stars. I had forgotten; it seems so long ago, such a riveting viewing experience so long ago. I used to be so obsessed and would go around humming the theme song. I was able to make 10 tapes of AOW during its run here. That's 60 episodes worth!
That would be great if your station re-ran it, and you got to tape it all. I wish it were so here, or a DVD release - if a DVD release, we better start saving our money for it now!
Yes, I love Kim Gap-soo too, a fine actor! He also plays a pirate on God of the Sea and is in the horror film Tale of Two Sisters.
Hopefully your station will not cut off the wonderful 10 minute recap from the end of the last show or the new opening with most of all the character credited (finally KDS!)
Enjoy! Eowyn, longtime-defender of Choe Chunghon (really Kim Gap-soo!)
Edit PS - let us know how you liked the last episode, seven stars

I agree, the scene with CCH both laughing and crying over Jaunson was very well acted. Here in Philly we're set for Episode 158. I sent an e-mail to WYBE and they said we'll be seeing The Immortal Yi Sun-Shin next. Unfortunately they don't know if they'll get the rights to broadcast Age of Warriors again. So what about it, you all who are already seeing YSS? Is it better or worse than AOW?

So what about it, you all who are already seeing YSS? Is it better or worse than AOW? There will always be a special place in my heart for Age of Warriors. The Immortal Yi Soon-shin is good too, but Age of Warriors remains my favorite.

So what about it, you all who are already seeing YSS? Is it better or worse than AOW? It depends. YSS is good and all but its more toward people who know the story of Yi Soon Shin already. Some characters are not developed like AOW characters. The action sequences and cinematography are better in YSS than AOW but AOW story and characters are way better.
