So we now know that Hye-ran isn't in Daegu. There was the scene-setting shot of a waterfront, just before we saw HR getting up early to deliver newspapers, but Daegu is inland.
I wonder where she actually is. I imagine that the waterfront was instantly recognizable to Koreans, but Americans, even Korean-Americans, would be left in the dark. Busan, maybe?

You know somebody should organize a tour, entitled "Tracing One Million Roses," where we can go to all these supposed places that Hye Ran and/or Hyun Kyu hung out at--the World In Miniature theme park, the waterfront, Daegu, Busan, the bar where RH tosses copious tumblers of whiskey at MJ (no reenactments please!) ;D That would be such a cathartic way to end the OMR viewing experience--relive the moments of your fave characters and let it go...before moving on to the next drama series

Actually, several of the dramas (Winter Sonata, Summer Scent, etc) made the places where they were filmed popular (if they weren't before) because people wanted to go see where the dramas took place! LOL

So it was Busan. Euhhh, lucky guess. Biggest port city in Korea, and I could think of the name without checking a map.
