I was hoping to make this after a certain point in history was done (specifically after the First Strife of the Princes), but since the series is on hiatus, gotta kill time.
How does certains actors of the LBW show hold up against JDJ?
Some of these guys I'm not going to bother putting in, especially Yi Jiran, who is played by the same guy.
Yi Seonggye Yu Dong Geun vs Kim Yongcheol
Jeong Mongju Im Ho vs Choi Jonghwan
Yi Bangwon Ahn Jaemo vs Joo Sangwook (Personally I'm leaning towards Ahn Jaemo so far)
Jeong Dojeon
That person vs Lee Kwanggi
Ha Ryun Lee Kwanggi vs Nam Sungjin
King Gongyang Nam Sungin vs Park Hyung-joon
(Future) Queen Wongyeong* Kang Sejung vs Park Jinhee
* ajk has made it no secret that he loves Choi Myunggil's performance as Queen Won-gyeong, so I can't help but think he might make comparisons, though since Choi Myunggil is portraying the person in a much later stage in her life in GKS (not to mention she played her before in Tears of the Dragon), the comparison may not be fair.

Some of the JD performances I don't remember well enough to make fair comparisons, and some of them are tough to compare because the way the characters are being written is different. Like Ha Ryun, so far he has sort of a wry sarcasm about him in this series that I don't remember in JD's version (and I like it a lot). LSG, he was a rougher character in JD, with all of the heavy drinking.
And especially Wongyeong. Here she's the kind of person who quietly pulls strings and exerts influence behind the scenes and doesn't draw attention to herself. CMG wouldn't be such a good fit for this kind of part because she tends to take over a scene just by her presence. That Wongyeong was a much more entertaining character, but for the way this series is being written Park Jinhee is actually doing a nice job with it. Lady Min and Bangwon, their relationship is the best part of the series so far.
As much as I like Im Ho, from what I've learned about Mongju, it feels like the definitive Mongju is still out there somewhere. Can't really articulate it better than that, just a feeling.
You guys are much more familiar with these people from history so I'm curious to hear what you think.

Looked up a couple clips of JDJ on YouTube and I must say Lee Il Hwa makes for an interesting Queen Shindeok, her portrayal is so different from Ye Ji Won's that i can't even compare really.
