I've read this book and really enjoyed reading about this time period. Those of you who do not wish to know details ahead of time, wait until AOW is over before reading the book. Curiosity got the best of me and I just could not wait to find out. If anyone out there has read the book, I would love to know what you thought of it if you can comment without revealing any specific details about the characters.

I have now read up to page 98 in the book. In the first two chapters, I liked reading about the history of the 1170 coup and hearing about all the age of warrior characters. It was easy to follow. I wished that there were more details about the lives of the warriors though (such as was written about Ui-min concerning his great physical size and his slave origins). But I believe the book isn't meant to be a narrative biography type like that. I liked reading about how the Ch'oe's consolidated power, but I got a little bogged down in the part where all of those civil officials are listed! I liked the info in the preface telling of the sources for the histories. I learned a lot so far!
