I was wondering if this was out there someplace; thanks for finding it. Much appreciated.
I plowed right through the whole thing and wow it couldn't be much more different from the series. Other than the premise of the two of them eating together as friends there's very little of it in what we've seen so far. Doc isn't a doc at all; he works for a publishing company. His ex has the same name but is the complete opposite of Korea Barbie in the series. Actually he has a bunch of exes and she was his first. Dohee works for a web design company. They both learn each others' backstories pretty early on; in the series they're revealing almost nothing. (I think it works better the way the book does it.)
The idea I had about the ridiculous scenes in the series so far being references to panels in the book? Wrong. The book is actually very subdued and has none of the silliness of the series. I almost wonder if the author is unhappy with so much silliness being put into the TV script.
Overall I thought the book starts out sort of flat and got better as it went on, and by the end was very satisfying. Hope the series does the same after its weak start.
