Wow, when he said "Take them and bury them" I wondered if that was a mistranslation. Nope. But even buried up to their necks, their hair stayed poofey. How about that. The wisdom of the ancients.
Jung-hwa can look at an account ledger for five seconds and find a buried discrepancy? That was awfully far-fetched. I know it's TV and nobody wants to wait for an audit, but come on, that should have been written differently. Still, she's clearly good at what she does and it's neat to see her emerging. Nice character development.
Towards the end of the episode I felt like the whole story was starting to drift and become less interesting. It's gone in some strange directions and I hope things start to weave back together soon.
Master Jo: "Flashy movements are not necessary." Thank you sir! Right there is the line of the series so far. All of the wild spinning gyrations in these fight scenes, it's just wasted energy and leaves you defenseless and vulnerable for those moments...unless your opponent is doing it too--which is what they all do! But he's right, eventually somebody will simply go for the kill and then you're dead. I like Master Jo so far; he's an interesting character.
Oh good heavens, two petite women launching themselves off their horses and beating up a gang of big goons. Spare me. Exactly the kind of thing I really, really hate in these shows. Please let's not have that kind of nonsense again. Sheesh.
Hey Yon you big dummy, don't look down! You too Goong-bok, big mistake.

I did not like this episode at all. Half the time I didn't know who was who and why they were fighting each other, and I didn't really care. This merchant stuff just leaves me bored to tears. I'll take palace intrigues over this any day! I really would like to say there were some parts I liked in epi 9 but I can't. I didn't enjoy one moment of it.
The only thing that gave me the slightest pleasure by association was when they were doing all that gladiator training stuff - it reminded me (very remotely) of one of my favorite movies Gladiator starring Russell Crowe. That was about it.

So....this is somewhat related...but....anyone ever have that piece of entertainment that you enjoyed the first time but looking back it isn't as good as you remebered?

lol - yes! I saw Matrix when I was a teenager and I thought it was like one of the greatest movies ever (love Keanu Reeves). Then instead of just leaving it alone I decided to watch it again a couple of years back... It was so, I mean SO, bad!! I didn't like it at all. It was a very sad experience for me, I can tell you. So now I'm very careful what I revisit...

This has nothing to do with this thread nor sageuk's question, but did you know that the guy in your profile picture is currently being investigated for series of rape accusations?

Truth (and anyone else reading this),
I hope I don't offend or make you feel bad because that is not my intention but in the future could you do me a favor? If there are big news on any Korean actors (good news or bad but especially bad) could you please . . . . . . . give a spoil alert? It'll just give me a chance to decide whether I want to read it or not, and also when I want to read it (after I finish whatever drama I may be watching starring that actor or when I'm mentally prepared, etc.) Maybe this is an unreasonable request, I don't know.
If you knew how traumatized I was after reading what you wrote about Park Yoo Chun you would understand. I watched I Miss You and then went onto Sensory Couple a little while ago. I always liked PYC ever since I saw him in Rooftop Prince and Sungkyunkwan Scandal long ago but after watching these two recent dramas I was totally in love with him. I was in the middle of watching Rooftop Prince again and absolutely loving it and him when I read what you wrote above and went into a shock and have not been able to continue with RP.
It may be stupid of me (I do tend to be stupid in many things) but when it comes to K drama world, for me the motto "Ignorance is bliss" works best, I'm learning. One of the reasons I like this site so much is because we pretty much stay away from actors' personal lives.
And as far as PYC I've decided to remain his fan (for what it's worth) until he's proven guilty. And I am gonna go back to watching RP.

I apologize if you were offended. I was just wondering if you knew since his scandal is currently the hottest scandal in Korea right now.
