I don't HAVE to have season 2, I think the drama is just perfect and complete as is. I don't see the ending as a cliffhanger, more just open-ended for us to complete ourselves. But of course I'll watch it if it comes out. Hope it'll be just as good as the first though. (Can that be possible??)
Why she became Chae all of sudden I have no idea - fixed the mistake.

Ok, I know I keep saying one more thing, or one last thing, but here's one more thing I want to point out about the drama. Why is the asphyxiation killer so young? He doesn't look like he aged since 1997. I actually made a tvtropes page for this show. tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Series/SignalIn it, I wrote that the very first case of the show, the Yoon-jung kidnapping, bore similarities to a kidnapping and death of a boy- a crime that the Korean film Voice of a Murderer was based on. Good guess, but it's actually based on a different case from 1997 where a pregnant woman kidnapped and killed a 7 years old girl named Park Nari. The culprit is currently serving a life sentence. Couldn't find the English version of the page, but you should try Google translate in case you're curious. ko.wikipedia.org/wiki/%EB%B0%95%EB%82%98%EB%A6%AC_%EC%9C%A0%EA%B4%B4_%EC%82%B4%ED%95%B4_%EC%82%AC%EA%B1%B4In additon to the Hwaseong case I mentioned earlier, I also found out that asphyxiation killings were based on Shinjeong-dong serial murders, which were carried out from 2005 to 2006. ko.wikipedia.org/wiki/%EC%8B%A0%EC%A0%95%EB%8F%99_%EC%97%B0%EC%87%84%EC%82%B4%EC%9D%B8%EC%82%AC%EA%B1%B4The culprit still has not been arrested, so I hope they catch him. I wonder if he watched Signal and if he did, what was his reaction? He might have smiled thinking that drama is only a drama and that himself, the real culprit of the real life case would never be arrested. The Inju rape case is based on the Miryang gang rape case from 2004. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miryang_gang_rapeThe collapse of Hanyoung Bridge is based on the collapse of Seongsu Bridge on 1994. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seongsu_Bridge

Still can't find that track when something melancholic happens. It doesn't use lyrics and has piano in it.

I really like the soundtrack of Signal. There's somehting about the melancholy thats soothing to the ears.
And I finally found the track I really liked! 소년 박해영 59:55. (Translation: Park Haeyoung the Boy)

The CW have created a remake of this series! Well kinda....not really. Its more a television of a 2000 film that has a similar premise to Signal, but if I had never heard of the film, I would have mistaken this show for an Americanized remake of a Korean show.
Its called Frequency by the way.

The casting for the Japanese show is pretty spot on, Atsuro Watabe (grey hair suit ), is usually pretty good, but Kazuki Kitamura (Kill Bill,Hojo Tokimune,Tenchijin and a slew of Miike films) is worth watching the series alone .He is one of those actors that can just lift a film or drama .

I just found out the Japanese are making their own version of this show. Set to release on April. I wonder how they are going to localize the cases in the show because they are all based on actual events. Are they going to use the same cases as the original Signal but just with Japanese names or will they use murder cases that actually happened in Japan?

I could be wrong, but it looks Lee Jae-han's Japanese counterpart's characterization could be different. I'm only saying that because of his face. That's a mean face.
Japanese version is also going to be ten episodes.

Huh. How about that.
At last the victims of what happened then have their justice, even if he can't be prosecuted for that case due to the statute of limitations.

I watched the Japanese version on and off last year. I had a really hard time keeping track of what was happening with all the time shifts. Maybe I should have just binge-watched it.
