Can't have a SJS drama without his character dying or having a near death experience.

Sorry-- gonna "hijack" your thread for a minute--- been wanting to watch this and started recently.... Some "observations": (I'm on episode 3) 1) instead of rich boy/poor girl--we have rich boy/overwieght girl (of course there is family drama, too) 2) Did we really need an overweight secretary too? (seems so out of place in a drama not really sure why it was planned that way) 3) I like Ji-Woong's voice-- it's "cute" to hear his english 4) So Ji Sub...yeah, my inner fan-girl is very happy.... (Been trying to avoid your posts until I watch, but your last comment "Can't have a SJS drama without his character dying or having a near death experience" really has me curious...... but I will not (hopefully) read any more......

1) instead of rich boy/poor girl--we have rich boy/overwieght girl (of course there is family drama, too) This seems to be the new "take" on rich guy and poor girl love stories. The guy is still super rich but the girl isn't necessarily dirt poor and goes through a transformation (losing weight, makeover, etc) while falling in love. 4) So Ji Sub...yeah, my inner fan-girl is very happy.... It's So Ji Sub so that's understandable.

Warning: This post is about the final 2 episodes, 15 & 16.
Joo Eun spends the night with Young Ho and then its back to work the next day. Young Ho meets with Joo Eun's mom who seems to approve of their relationship. Soo Jin isn't feeling well but keeping it secret from Woo Shik. Some of the medications she's been taking could make it difficult for her to become pregnant. Woo Shik thinks Soo Jin is pregnant which causes them to fight. Young Ho takes Joo Eun to see his mom. Joo Eun gets a text from Young Ho's grandma wanting to meet. Young Ho and Joo Eun go on a date and do all sorts of cheesy couple things. Their wish is to be together and Young Ho gives Joo Eun the engagement ring that was hidden in her scarf.
Joo Eun rehearses with Hyun Woo for her meeting with Young Ho's grandma. Young Ho meets with Woo Shik regarding plans for building a rehabilitation center. He wants to get in touch with his uncle as well. Young Ho's grandma has no issues with Joo Eun dating Young Ho. The grandma just wants grandchildren. Joon Sung and Yi Jin officially become an item. Joo Eun is invited over to Young Ho's family home and entertains his dad and grandma. Joo Eun wants to grant the the grandma's wish of grandchildren asap but Young Ho is worried about his potential offspring being sick like him. Joo Eun manages to talk him into it. Young Ho goes to see his father at the hospital. He leaves him in the care of his stepmom and Young Joon. Woo Shik and Soo Jin make up and he asks her to marry him. We get some flashbacks during a photoshoot. Fast forward to Summer 2016. Ji Woong joined the army. Young Ho is returning from helping out in a flooded area. Joo Eun is 3 months pregnant with twins. Young Ho wants to go exercise after seeing she's gained some weight. Flashback to Joo Eun meeting Young Ho as a kid and placing bandage on his injured leg. The end.
-------
This was a simple series with plenty of fluff but I enjoyed watching it. So many K-Dramas tease "Netflix and chill" but few will actually go there. It feels like they were running out of story there at the end with all the flashbacks. I didn't think the flashback to Young Ho and Joo Eun having met as kids was necessary. I'm not sure why K-Dramas often feel the need to throw that in. I'll have more to say regarding the series when I post my final thoughts later on.

Just finished episode 1. Wow, So Ji Sub is gorgeous in this drama - love his hair style.
Aside from my man SJS, I didn't love the first episode, it didn't seem to make sense to me. And I really didn't understand why the girl had to run out of the ER in a hospital gown. Little things like that really bother me. The whole time I'm worrying about her clothes and bag, like how she's gonna get them back and how she thought she was gonna catch a bus or a taxi when she left her bag behind...
How do they make her face so fat like that???
Of course I'm gonna go on to the next episode but I hope this drama is worthy of 16 hours of my life... Will SJS alone justify it?? Maybe...

Episode 2:
Honestly if it weren't for SJS, I would've quit the drama about now. Nothing these people do make any sense to me and I find zero chemistry between SJS and the leading girl. I can't understand why he helps her to the extent he does when he barely knows her. Too much too fast.
In the beginning of the second episode when she's being chased by some strange man in a mask and suddenly John Kim is there with the umbrella, the drama never shows what happened to that strange dude in the mask. He just disappeared. I find that so odd and really irritating. Makes no sense.
And then when she sees her boyfriend with the other girl in the hotel lobby and she turns and runs into the glass door or wall... Really? Is she a total idiot or what?? And then she just lies there and moans "Save me, save me." Wow!! And then John Kim is there for her again and getting her shoe and putting it on her and then escorting her out of the lobby while throwing daggers with his eyes at the boyfriend... This whole scene came way too early in the drama I felt. The relationship between the two leads hadn't developed AT ALL, they are mere strangers, yet John Kim is so protective of her. Made no sense and left me with total disbelief.
About the boyfriend... Com'on, who dates for 15 years??? Really? And his pointy ears are so creepy!!
And what's with the ugly Capri pants???
The only good thing, aside from SJS (tho I'm starting to be a little disappointed in him for choosing this drama), is that I realized that kid who keeps calling the lead girl "ma'am" is Henry of Super Junior!! I kept saying to myself, now where have I seen that cute face before? And then it occurred to me that he is or was one of the SuJu!! His character is a little obnoxious though...

It's been awhile since I saw Ep2, but I think the scene with the "strange man in a mask" comes back into play in a later episode, so it will make a little more sense then. I agree with you about the lead girl, I don't know what is more annoying-- her walking into doors and such or the fact that the male is always rescuing her! I think the reason John Kim keeps rescuing her is more of a "personality disorder" than he likes her-- I think right now they keep runnning into each other and he rescues her because he just feels he has to, and as they spend this time together it gives them a chance to build a relationship. At least it is not the typical "poor girl/rich guy" drama. I also like watching/listening to Henry-- his voice is so "cute" (wish I could think of a better word!) when he speaks english. I actually stopped watching and googled the drama to find out who he was! Keep watching, I am currently going into SJS withdrawal waiting for you to catch up

I think my problem right now is that I just don't like this drama. So of course everything about it is gonna annoy me. However I liked episode 3 a leeeetle better. Still all that secrecy about John Kim's identity in U.S. and the chairwoman and arranged date - just all too weird. I think a little mystery is good but when they leave the viewer in the dark too much that's a mistake too.
Why does Henry keep saying "I love you" to everyone? Is that what k drama writers think Americans are like? That they go around spewing "I love you" to everyone they meet??? Geeez!!! Henry is really annoying me...
Hey Birdy by the by, did you notice all these BigBang shows on DramaFever? There must be like 6 or 7. I think they are live concert recordings or something. You prob know already but telling you just in case.
Ok. On to episode 4...
