Goryeo Dogyeong, or the Illustrated Works of Goryeo, is a book by a Song Dynasty diplomat describing the culture of Goryeo, such as how they dressed. I decided to do some translation exxercises (you may find some of this information familiair though). These translations however, aren't perfect as some parts of it confused me at times, not to mention there are better translators.
Goryeo king’s everyday clothes: black hat (ohsamo), narrow-sleeved yellow gown, wide belt made of violet (I think its supposed to mean wide violet sash) with blue and gold threads in between. The country’s officials and scholars when having morning sessions, wore hats and tightened belts, during prayers a (beaded) crown is worn and jade tablets are carried. However, when the Chinese diplomat goes , violet official robes are worn, ivory slabs are carried and jade belts are worn, them full of discipline and careful of their moral integrity. Whenever they rest, a black headband and white linen is worn, no different from the people.
(In many Goryeo dramas, we see the monarch wearing gold, fitting with the yellow robe description. It seems however they wore those mostly when they're not doing any official business and wore the same outfits the ministers have when having political activity. A painting of Gongmin wearing such an outfit seems to support this. Yellow robes could be interpreted as casual wear.)
The generals of the Six Guards wore armor and helmets, made of either black leather or iron, patterned silk was tied up next to each other. Below the waist are 10 yeogae (no idea what this part means-measuring unit?) belt, which was decorated with autumnal embroidered floral pattern, with arrows and sword on his left. Wearing his hand is a bow, they stand guardat the palace doors, recieving decrees or sending stuff to the monarch, celebrations at temples six people in Chinese, loopholes.....(I gave up near the end)
(Regarding the description of the generals, I couldn't help but wonder if it was similar to this picture of a Song Dynasty warrior: s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/23/92/ae/2392ae6913aa84803691aae3e5968623.jpg) <Makes me think of the samurai's haori
