This post is for episodes 9 and 10 of Pride and Prejudice.
Jong Gon wants Hee Man to sacrifice Young Chan and Jae Hak. This would strengthen his position and weaken Song Moo Young. Soo and Chan have lunch with Yeol Moo's mom. Young Min makes Jang Won and Gwang Mi run around looking for the case files. Soo admits to having feelings for Yeol Moo and doesn't plan to just let Dong Chi win. Hee Man returns the bribe to Taek Gyun. Young min returns the case files to Jang Won after giving him a taste of how it felt to be treated unfairly. Jang Won plans to take on the case. Jang Won and Gwang Mi kiss while drinking. Dong Chi asks Soo help with Byeol's case. Soo is stunned to learn that Byeol was wearing a yellow jacket and disappeared the same day he showed up at the boarding house. Soo also has a yellow jacket from his childhood. He can't remember anything tho.
Chang Gi meets with Hee Man. Hee Man wants to know who Soo is. Flashback to the night Chang Gi hit a woman crossing the street. She had a son who also wore a yellow jacket. Soo comes clean about his past to Dong Chi. He's not the biological grandson of the lady who runs the boarding house. Soo has a yellow jacket and arrived at grandma's house around the time Byeol went missing. The original house was close to the factory. Yeol Moo overhears their conversation and walks into the room. Soo has the other pair of the same shoe as Dong Chi. He's the kid Dong Chi tried to save at the factory but he's not Byeol. It seems Chang Gi might have been to take him there and has been looking out for Soo ever since. Ah Reum and Jae Sik are let go. Yeol Moo gets a call from Ah Reum. She stashed a chip in a hotel room and wants Dong Chi and Yeol Moo to retrieve it. Jae Sik and the boys show up but Yeol Moo gets the chip first. Jae Sik tries to run Dong Chi over but Yeol Moo saves him. Once back at the office, Dong Chi learns that he's being pulled off the team and transferred to another location.
------
OK, so Soo is not Byeol and Chang Gi isn't his father. We still don't know what happened after Dong Chi went unconscious and how Soo got away. Things were going too well for Dong Chi and his team. They were bound to be thrown a curveball at some point.
I apologize for the tardiness of this post. Things should go more smoothly from here on out.

One of the things I can't stand in K-drama: in episode 9 Dong Chi says to Soo, "There's something suspicious about you" and Soo says, "Like what?" and Dong Chi says, "Like everything." I really hate it when they answer like that, without giving the specifics.
"What do you love about my daughter?" "Everything, sir."
"I'm sorry." "About what?" "Everything, just everything."
What a cop-out answer.
That whole scene where Dong Chi is trying to find out if Soo has feelings for Yeol Moo was annoying to me. And when he finally worms it out of Soo, he acts so sure Soo has no chance of winning Yeol Moo cuz he's so sure he's gonna get her. Well, we know that cuz he's the lead guy but he's not supposed to know that. So smug, so unattractive.
I don't know if it's just me but frankly I just don't see the actor who plays Dong Chi has the makings of a leading man. I feel there's something missing in him to make him a real star. He doesn't have that certain star-quality as far as I'm concerned. He was great as the older brother in "The Heirs," but as a lead guy, I find him a tad boring and bland.
To tell you the truth, I was sittin' on the fence for a while regarding Dong Chi but when he dragged Yeol Moo by her ID necklace to the cafeteria in episode 10 - that was it for me. That was just so uncool. I hated her a little for taking it so meekly. Actually, I think she liked it! And then why did he get so mad at her for saving his sorry behind when that car almost ran him over? (Have you ever heard of the words "thank you," you jerk?) Then he gets all mad at her again for getting a cut on her hand?! If that's his way of showing he cares, forget it!
Then there's that scene when Dong Chi says to Soo "Isn't it a bit of a coincidence" regarding two boys being at that warehouse. I started laughing and replied, "You're telling me!" What, he finds that such a coincidence but not that he, Soo, and Yeol Moo all ending up at the same boardinghouse? Three people who are all connected to that one day, to that one incident, that happened fifteen years ago, all happen to meet up accidentally and all work and live together? And Dong Chi is all marveling over the "coincidence" of two boys in yellow coats being in that warehouse?? Whatever.
And then, when Yeol Moo suspects that Soo may be her brother, she rushes in to see if the sneakers match. I find that just too ridiculous. Her brother disappeared when he was six, not when he was a baby. Wouldn't it make more sense if she were to study Soo's face instead of his sneakers? I mean, does a person's face change that much from age six to age twenty-two? So much that you can't even trace the similarities? All the writers had to do was have her look searchingly into his face for a minute, that's all. That woulda made that whole scene less idiotic.
This drama sometimes...
Maybe I'm nitpicking but I can't help it. (Besides I'm in a bad mood cuz the Patriots -or should we say the "Deflate-riots" - won.)

What a cop-out answer. It annoys me when they give cop out answers or say they'll explain everything later. If you brought it up, you can explain in detail NOW. That whole scene where Dong Chi is trying to find out if Soo has feelings for Yeol Moo was annoying to me. Well, we know that cuz he's the lead guy but he's not supposed to know that. So smug, so unattractive. He's definitely overconfident. That seems to come from his past history with Yeol Moo. He himself said that he thinks of Yeol Moo as his woman. I don't agree with that line of thinking but it's a K-Drama. The guy is always sure the girl is his the moment he makes eye contact. They've never really explained why Dong Chi is so hung up on Yeol Moo because I don't really get it. Another reason why I think Dong Chi doesn't view Soo as a threat is the age difference between Yeol Moo and Soo.

Well, I don't really get why she's hung up on him. lol
Ah yes, this I can understand. Most girls don't like younger guys, true. Me on the other hand... just in Soo's case I won't let it bother me *wink*
What's the age difference anyway, do we know?

Well, I don't really get why she's hung up on him. lol Right. It goes both ways. What I mean is.. Dong Chi seemed to like Yeol Moo from the moment they met. He's the one continually pursuing her. I don't think he's ever said why he liked her so much then or why he continues to do so. What's the age difference anyway, do we know? Not sure of the exact ages but Soo would be about the same age as Byeol.

I don't think he's ever said why he liked her so much then or why he continues to do so. That says a lot about what's lacking in this drama, as far as romance goes. In most other dramas I've watched, the love interests don't necessarily have to say why they're interested in whoever they are interested in - we just know why cuz we see it ourselves. In this drama we seem to be doing a lot of wondering "what does he/she see in her/him?" When we're constantly asking that (cuz we don't see it ourselves), to me it means there's no chemistry between the couple.

I'm not sure how we, as viewers, are supposed to get over Yeol Moo thinking Dong Chi killed her brother. K-Drama couples often overcome crazy misunderstandings. But thinking someone killed your brother, becoming a prosecutor to bring them to justice only to fall in love with them after all that? UGH. I can't bring myself to root for them to get together in the end. Post for eps 11 & 12 will be up later.

Totally agree. Somewhere along the drama, she said something to make us think she didn't really believe Dong Chi was the killer. I didn't really buy that. But then I didn't buy that she really believed he was the killer either. Very weak story all around.

I haven't posted much even though I am watching this, but after reading all the comments I come to the conclusion that I am not as lost as I thought! Although, I basically like this drama, there is so much coming and going that I am having a hard time putting it all together and it seems like you both are, too. I will keep watching, keep reading and hope that things improve and make more sense (LOL)
