I received an e-mail from MBC Chicago announcing a new drama called "Fated to Love You." It's a Wednesday/Thursday drama; begins this Wednesday, August 27. Runs 20 episodes, each 60 minutes long; airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10:00 p.m. with repeats the following afternoons at 5:40 p.m.
Looks like a romantic-comedy/culture-clash/love-triangle kind of story.
I've attached the announcement document that MBC Chicago prepared and attached to its e-mail. Also here's a Wikipedia link that gives more detail about the plot and the cast.
I actually saw the same title that was a Chinese drama... my ONLY Chinese drama I ever watched. I happened to read the synopsis and it just grabbed me so I ended up watching it. It was sooo funny, I laughed out loud so many times. I ended up liking it a lot, although I didn't like the fact I had to rely on the subtitles completely. I really liked the lead couple and loved the crazy family of the lead girl and the lead guy's cute grandmother.
So when I saw the Korean version, I watched just the first episode to compare. Sadly I didn't like it at all. The lead guy was a little too over the top, and I thought the lead girl was not all that likable. Based on just what I saw of the Korean drama, I think the Chinese version is better.
The whole time I was watching this drama (the Taiwanese version), I couldn't help feeling the leading girl reminded me of someone. It was driving me crazy. Then finally towards the end, it hit me. I don't know if any of you watched it or plan to watch it but I think she looks so much like Reese Witherspoon!!
(I'm one of those annoying people who go around saying how someone looks like someone else all the time...)
