Some random thoughts... When Ja Beon took the sword for Myeon- so sad, thought it might totally destroy Myeon. After the 1st battle, when Se Yeoung said, "I don't know if I am beast or human" and SR replies"to me you're just the one I missed" perfect! When back at the palace, when the King was talking about the possibility that Myeon might not be able to follow thru with killing Se Yeoung, I thought Myeon might just turn on the King..... I could not beleive that Su Yang's men shot arrows into the battle and HIT Myeon-- so cruel (and so unbeleivable that Se Young only got hit once!) Shows how ruthless Su Yang really is.... Have more..... will cont. in a second

I thought the scene when Myeon got hit with the arrows was well-written, when Myeon said he was going to see Jong first was so sad, first tears to come to my eyes..... When the King was talking to Myeon's father and he was still complaining about Myeon, I felt so sorry for Myeon's father, I thought he just might turn on the King (Oh, I see a pattern here of me wanting someone to step out of the King's shadow and go help Se Yeong, first I thought Myeon might when Ja Beon died now with his dad) I was pleased (?) when the Princess said she felt sorry for Meon, see I'm not the only one that thinks he got a bad deal in the end.... Have more... how are you doing?

Sorry, just finished it now. Kept getting interrupted!!
Well, I'm a little torn. I'm a sucker for happy endings, but I'm not completely happy with this one. It's just too happy, too perfect. I guess I was so prepared for a sad ending that it took me off guard. I was very confused when, after seeing the gravesite and everyone talking about both of them dying, Su Yang sees Seung Yu walk pass him in the street. I thought Su Yang was having a senior moment or something. But then his wife seemed to see him too so I was like what is going on? Then they showed what had happened. I don't like it when they play with your mind like that.
Overall it was still all very good.

I agree with you to a point, I was just glad it wasn't the typical happy ending-- at least they had to fake their deaths, make their friends beleive they are dead, ect. Even if Seung Yu died in jail (which I thought he was) and then Se Ryeong went on to have her baby and live with the former Princess and her baby it would see like a easy way to end the series, this way at least had us guessing until the end.

I have to says thanks for the plan to watch this "together", when they captured Seung Yu I was so angry/sad that I wanted to hit stop and not watch the end-- I thought he was going to die right there at the temple and that would be the end to everything-- I don't know if I would have watched the end, totally expecting a typical ending. Seung Yu dying and Se Reyoung living to raise his child....

When Ja Beon took the sword for Myeon- so sad, thought it might totally destroy Myeon. I had a HUGE problem with this whole scene. First of all, I could NOT believe it when Seung Yu threw the sword at Myeon's back. It was such a cowardly thing to do - no way would Seung Yu do that. Again I think the writers made a mistake in having him do something like that. Another thing is, Myeon is Seung Yu's archenemy who used to be his best friend. Doesn't he want to have face-off? Have a one-on-one combat? It's just unbelievable to me that he would want to just kill him off by sticking a sword in his back. I was so totally disappointed at this scene. I said to myself, wow these writers are really THOUGHTLESS!!! Then another thing is yes, it's sad to see your faithful subject die. BUT it is the battlefield. The way Myeon carried on was way too much. You should be somewhat prepared that SOME of your men are BOUND to die. It's not like you guys went on a picnic and suddenly someone fell down dead. It's a battlefield, dude, get a grip.

So True-- I just thought that Myeon's reaction was typical of him, so set on getting revenge on Seung Yu and yet once again he is one that suffers a lose, just like when he had to deal with being responsible for Jeong's death, he is now responsible for his "sidekick" dying on the battlefield -- trying to save Myeon's neck. I have to admit I think I missed the whole "throw the sword in Myeon's back" because if you are in the middle of a big swordfight-- why in the world would you throw away your only weapon?!?!? I think I just thought it came out of nowwhere (yeah, that makes no sense) - I too think Seung Yu would want a one on one battle with Myeon. Although maybe he really didnt think he could kill his "friend" up close. I still have a hard time he did not just slit the King's throat when he saw him at the temple!

Seung Yu dying and Se Reyoung living to raise his child.... Ohmgosh, I had the same thought. I said to myself, thank goodness I have Birdy to watch with or I might not have watched this to the end. This is when like you I thought he was going to die and she was going to die with him. I don't know... It would have been very sad but I think if he had died and she went on to live and had his child it would've been much more believable for me. It's hard to swallow that Se Ryeong's mother who was virtually powerless to do anything to help her daughter up till now suddenly has the manpower and the resources to fake Seung Yu and Se Ryeong's death and then send them off quietly and secretly without Su Yang knowing what was going on... Hmmm... something's caught in my throat... can't swallow... *cough, cough*

I still have a hard time he did not just slit the King's throat when he saw him at the temple! Ohmgosh Birdy, I wasn't even gonna go there cuz I'm just too tired with nitpicking but really that scene was ridiculous. What I'm about to complain about cannot be considered nitpicking - cuz it's a huge, awkward, glaring mistake on the writers' part again. Are we suppose to believe that when a man has the sword blade ON A ANOTHER MAN'S THROAT he still can't kill him? Does he have to raise it so high before slashing him in half?? Come on, Seung Yu!! How many men have you killed on your way to this moment?? Su Yang himself said something like that. You got the blade on his neck already!! What's with raising it when you see that Su Yang's men are right there just waiting for a chance to get you. Just slash his throat and be done with it!! The whole scene was crazy, I couldn't believe it!!

I have to say I was totally caught off-guard by the ending, I really thought that Seung Yu's revenge was going to be so bad that he would have to die in the last episode, especially when he said he had to go to the temple to confront the King on his own, I thought he would have slit the King's throat, been captured, felt good for getting revenge for his father and then dying and going to the "underworld" to be with his dad. I think the writer's having Seung Yu ending up blind was an easy way for the battles to end-- after all didnt the Princess try to save Jeong's life by promising not to fight the King again and yet they still did, I think if Seung Yu didnt end up blind viewers would have a hard time beleving he would "live happily ever after" adn forget about his need for revenge.

Yeah that whole scene in the temple was wrong, I mean the whole drama was basicaly about the need for revenge and here he has a sword to the King's throat AND HE DOESN"T DO ANYTHING!?!??! Seung Yu and SE Ryeong had even discussed what her feelings would be if he had to kill her dad so it would not have been a surprise to her.
