OK-- I'll ask "What is the difference between "Your Highness" and "Your Majesty"? "Your Highness" is addressed to a prince or princess; "Your Majesty" is addressed to a king or queen. I am also really enjoying the music in this drama. It's incredible how music adds so much to what you're watching, right??

The music in this drama is just perfect-- I just wish I knew enough to understand what they are saying with out having to look for the lyrics and possible spoilers on Yotube. The part I like the best is when something dramatic is going to happen and they song just kinda "bounces" with what sounds like singular word and/or phrases.....I'm not sure if that makes any sense, maybe I will try to find an exact scene to explain it better.....

Hi Bo, My question was in response to Fiona's comment about translations in this drama- to me highness and majesty are pretty close to the same, although majesty was used for the Queen when I watched "Once Upon a Time" on TV....so maybe one is mainly used for females and the other for males?? (guess I should have included her post in my original post....) Ah! I see that now, I could not find out what you were responding to on the page. So, fiona, see my response to Bird above. In English, "his majesty" and "his highness" are pretty well interchangeable. I agree with you that sometimes the translations play fast and loose with titles, which are so very important in Korea but pretty much unfathomable here, but I'd say maybe I'd give the translator a pass here. He/she probably just threw one or the other of those in on the fly, because as I said, they're interchangeable here.

Finished Ep 10 this weekend. This was another great episode. Don't want to say much and risk spoilers.... Just a few things to question..may be from ep 9 or 10 When the Princess gets married and has to leave the palace, just how in the world is the Prince Consort supposed to help the young Prince? The Princess is acutally told to leave the palace and go back to her home... Do the Kings really have much control or is that just part of the story? Is almost seems that way in these types of dramas and even though the young King does step up in ep 10 it almost seems to late.... I can not belive that after all that happened Seung Yu showed back up in town-- would that automatically put him in harms way? Wouldn't the smart thing to do, would be to hide out, get stronger, make a game plan....ect. Still loving the music in this drama......

In English, "his majesty" and "his highness" are pretty well interchangeable. I beg to differ, Bo. As far as royalty is concerned "his majesty" and "his highness" are NEVER interchangeable. If you were to address Queen Elizabeth as "Your Highness" or refer to her as "Her Highness" you would be making a grave mistake because you are saying she is a mere princess and not the Queen, the Empress, the Ruler of England (you might even get beheaded right on the spot ); likewise if you were to address Prince Charles as "Your Majesty" or refer to him as "His Majesty" he wouldn't mind, I'm sure, cuz he's hoping to be king someday (fat chance! ) but you would still be incorrect.

Wouldn't the smart thing to do, would be to hide out, get stronger, make a game plan You make a great point here, Birdy. It's not just that it would be smarter to hide out, it would be physically impossible to do what he did. I mean com'on, how many times did he get slashed by swords in episode 9? And yet he can walk, hold a sword, scream?? what happened to all the wounds and bleeding? did they just miraculously disappear?? Sometimes I think this drama totally underestimates the viewers. And another thing - yes the scene with Se Ryeong holding the sword to her neck was very exciting and somewhat moving, but really, how easy could it have been for someone to just sneak behind her and take the sword away from her?? It was sort of ridiculous... Don't know if you guessed yet but I did NOT enjoy this episode much. First of all, there was just too much suffering all around, it was very hard for me to take it all in. Secondly, I still harbor a very deep resentment toward Se Ryeong. And when I start hating one of the main stars I tend to not enjoy the drama as much. Her little deception is causing our guy waaaaayyy too much grief. I didn't love the music they were playing when SR put the sword to her throat. It reminded me of a Christmas song...

ROFL. THIS from the girl who won't take 5 seconds to look up "wuxia." In the same way that I'm not a Korean, I am not a Brit either. I'm an American. I haven't the faintest idea of the difference between a highness or a majesty and don't have any reason to care about it, but if I get to visit the Queen (any queen) for tea, I'll be sure to keep your lesson in mind. Until then, I think most Americans would not get the fine difference here.

I totally agree with you about Se Reyoung-- no matter what she does now, this whole mess really is mostly her fault-- can't blame her for the political stuff..... My thoughts when she was holding the sword were....What if she just gets so tired that she actually slits her throat?, What would happen then? Would Seung Yu turn to the "dark side"? Where would this drama story line go then?!?!? Then I felt guilty for even wishing her harm... Also, afterwards it looked like Se Reyoung's servent was massaging her left arm when Se Reyoung was lying in bed-- wasn't sheThanksholding the sword with her right arm?!?!? oooh, I getting picky here..... shame on me.... Hey Bo and Fiona-- I am now going to go google "wuxia" -- can't stand not knowing anymore

BTW, Fi, I think I might have been rude. Too flippant. Happens sometimes when I'm doing too many things at once. I sorry. On my tablet right now, very annoying, words exploded. Will talk later...

What?! No one's impressed how powerless Seryeong figured out how to stop her father from axing Seungyu? I was! I think she is trying to atone for her past actions, not to mention how much she loves the guy.

The Princess is acutally told to leave the palace and go back to her home... Well, Grand Prince Su Yang lives outside the palace and he seems to have no problem "influencing" the young King. It's not so much where they live but how much power they wield, I think. Don't know if I addressed your question at all...

Her evil father was still gonna have SY executed but the young King put a stop to it. Am I wrong? But I know what you mean. Even though she's been really irritating me to no end with her almost cross-eyed, Bambi stares, she was brave when she did that with the sword, I admit it.
