Okay, here I go again... Funny you saying you'd like to work for a company where you could go up to the rooftop to de-stress. One of my fave features of a Korean house is the flat roof. Most houses over there use the rooftop as their porch. They have potted plants and flowers up there. Some keep their seasonings and spices up there too. Some have these wide wooden benches where you can hang out on. Once I stayed with relatives in Busan and they even had a swing set up there. My cousins and I'd go up after dinner and just swing to our hearts content, listening to the ocean waves and admiring the evening sky. So cool and refreshing and beautiful up there. Ohmgosh, I miss Korea! Maybe next summer... I don't mind AeRa and SeungHyun's age difference. When I first started watching K-drama, the older girl/younger guy relationships did bother me a little, especially when the age difference was significant. Now I'm used to it and I think it's actually quite romantic. But I do agree with you that I'm having difficulty believing there could be anything between them, and that's because to me they have NO chemistry. I look at them together and it's like chop liver, nothing. And you said it when you said SeungHyun can't compete with JungWoo. As far as I'm concerned there's no way. JungWoo hands down for me! You say Joo SangWook reminds you of Jo InSung - you know who JSW reminds me of? Song Seung Hun. Especially when they smile their similarity is striking. Funnily though, SSH does nothing for me while JSW I find extremely attractive... About JSW's laughter: I think so far when he laughed out loud they were supposed to be fake. In ep 7 he was laughing out of desperation when he found out they wanted him to model for the company. And the other times I think he was laughing out of frustration because if AeRa. It was one of those "I'll laugh so I won't cry" kinda thing. JSW is a very good actor and if he wants to do a real laugh he can do a real laugh. I believe in you, Joo SangWook oppa!!! (Thank you, yes, my vacay was fun. But relaxing? No, can't say it was relaxing. The thing is Hubby's and my work are very different in nature. He's a software engineer (like JungWoo!) and so he sits in front of the computer all day or is in a meeting all day, so when we go on vacation he wants to be on the go all the time. Me, when I'm at work I'm running around here and there all day so my idea of a vacation is just lazing on the beach with a good book. Well, this vacation he had me hiking, biking, swimming, para-sailing even. I felt like I was training for a triathlon! I always need a vacation after a vacation with him! But it was fun - I do things I would never do if it weren't for him.) Okay. Onto episode 8. Loved it, of course. JungWoo was not only dressed like Superman but he acted like Superman too when he jumped on AeRa and covered her with his body, protecting her from harm. Awww, he's my hero!! And it was funny the way he flung the cape around them like the real Superman would do. I liked the fact that AeRa didn't grab at his head and started shaking him when he was unconscious like so many do in other dramas. That really irks me when they do that. And I liked also that she didn't scream out his name over and over again like some do. Really annoying when they do that. I was checking out AeRa's trench coat when she was in the hospital with JungWoo cuz I knew you'd be doing it too, Birdy! - hee hee. And you know I was feeling sorry for YeonJin until she took credit for staying with JungWoo all night. That was not nice. And I definitely did not like her playing with AeRa, taking her shopping to buy JungWoo's gift and then to dinner and making AeRa talk about her failed marriage knowing AeRa is JungWoo's ex. I really don't like her at all now. I really don't believe in the saying, "All's fair in love and war." She needs to keep some standards and keep her self-respect too. It was very sad about AeRa losing her baby. Are we to assume that JungWoo doesn't know about it? If so why didn't she tell him? Doesn't he have the right to know? Am a little confused... So is this why she divorced him??

just finished ep 8. Did this episode cover a lot! Even the Superman/M.Monroe part was good. I laughed when JungWoo thought she was staring at him, so he pulled the cape over the front of himself-- I feel the same about YeonJin that you did, but she is really getting annoying- it is pretty obvious that this is a one sided love and yet she just keeps on dreaming. The rest of this episode was so sad. I am guessing that AeRae didn't tell JungWoo about the miscarriage, maybe she wasn't that far along, maybe she felt that they were not really financially set for a baby, maybe she was having a rough time and wanted to wait and see -- could be many reasons, I don't think this is the reason they divorced, I still think it had more to do with them being so poor and struggling so much. The whole memorial service was very touching, very realistic-- from the way his sister treated AeRae, to the way JungWoo's mother reacted towards her, At the end, when JungWoo was watching AeRae getting ready to leave, you could almost see his heart opening up to her-- but even if they get back together, I think they will have a rough time with his family. I really felt sorry for Seung Hyun in the end, he looked so very sad-- but like you said, there really doesn't seem to be any chemistry between them and you would think he would realize that already! AeRae's work teammates are a trip! So rude at times! yet so comical, too! (Your vacation sounded like ours only in a different setting- my husband loved to go amusement parks, and after awhile the kids and I just got tired of the heat (in Orlando) and the standing in line and the crowds/noise) (wow, for a split second I thought I lost my post!!! Luckily, I was able to back up and find it!!!!)

Really liked what you said about the funeral service scenes. Yes, I totally saw how he was falling back in love with AeRa, if indeed he ever was out of love with her in the first place. In the other episode he finds out how she worked off the household debts he didn't even know about and how her brother spent all her alimony he gave her. Now he sees how compassionate she can be and there you go - the woman he thought he married is back. So sweet. Finished episode 9. Don't you find the siblings YeonJin and SeungHyun's tactics in their love pursuits very similar? They don't seem to care that their love interests are... well, not interested! When YeonJin finds JungWoo outside at that workshop trip and asks him what he was doing there, I was totally like, "Whoa, can we say STALKER?!" Omg, JungWoo is getting cuter and cuter by the episode. He was so funny when he was looking for her "natural elegance." And he was so adorable when he says to her, "What? What??" with that guilty yet innocent expression! I really loved the refrigerator scene when she's looking for something to drink and says how come he has nothing and he opens the other door of the refrigerator and shows her a whole assortment of drinks. Symbolic of their past relationship, maybe? That she was looking for something in him, thinking he didn't have it but really she was looking in the wrong place, that he had everything she wanted... kinda thing? I liked each of their expression as they stood there, sorta looking and sorta not looking at each other. They were like little kids, so cute! Omg, when AeRa saw JungWoo in the elevator with that tie she helped pick out - I felt sorry for her. (By the way, do you feel that JungWoo as the CEO spends way too much time riding in that elevator?) Here, don't you think Joo SangWook's real muscles are more impressive than the fake ones on that Superman costume??...

So I was doing a last minute check of new posts before I turned the lap top off for the night and I scroll down to see these pictures-- I just may have to stay up and watch another episode! OMG- I thought Taeyang had the best bare chest of all!!! Guess he can be the best of K-pop and Joo Sang-Wook can be best of k-dramas! That middle picture will be hard to erase from my brain-- wow, what a great smile he has!

Watched 1/2 of ep 9 last night, and finished it today.... so much going on in this episode! Laughed at your comment about the elevator-- especially since it is a glass one lol! I kinda looked at it as a subtle way of showing that the person(s) life keeps going up or down depending on what is currently happening. I thought in this episode Seung Hyun was dressing like a person in his later 20's in this episode, so I wonder if other's felt the way I did about the age difference. The scene when AeRae and Seung Hyun are on the roof and Jung Woo sees them, he looks totally in a panic! He is showing his jealously more and more in this episode, but AeRae still looks like she is not completely ready to give in to her feelings, yet. When the employees are all together playing the game and eating, Jung Woo and Yeojin are always off alone together, seems normal in a way since they are "upper management"-- but why attend an employee gathering if they are not going to really participate. I actually thought when AeRae and Jung Woo where playing the game, it was a dream sequence-- because didn't Jung Woo and Jeojin say they didn't want to play? EVERYTIME the scene where AeRae makes coffee for her ex-father-in-law comes up I have tears in my eyes, such a sad, but well acted scene I can't remember exactly, but there was a part when AeRae was on the rooftop (I think with Seung Hyun) and he asks her if she likes Jung Woo, and she says "No", my immediate thought was "Of course she doesn't like him she LOVES him" so she is not really lying about her feelings The whole pop top on the finger was crazy-- it made me think of a pretend proposal scene..... Two other scenes that were good-- the refrigerator -- wow made me think OCD?? and when they were doing the card readings... so much information given in a sly way...wonder what it will all mean in the end?? Like what is Jung Woo "disaster" -- personal or business or both?!?!?? The whole scene going off together to get the rice wine was a bit over the top-- yes, they could have left together to avoid making a scene in front of the other employees, but AeRea looked so pissed with him dragging her from store to store and then the whole "I'm in pain" thing, I think I would have just slapped him and walked away! I feel sorry for Seung Hyun falling for AeRae, but I really don't like Yeojin-- yeah, she had a rough time with her 1st marriage and the car accident-- but I agree with you she acts more like a stalker or a lost puppy or a teenage girl with no brains-- that I can't really feel sorry for her liking Jung Woo and getting no attention back from him. Looking forward to ep 10--- really really like this drama and the actors!

Watched episode 10 today. I was not happy that they had to drag the families into the AeRae/Jung Woo drama. I didn't mind the scene at Jung Woo's apartment with AeRae overhearing her ex-mother-in-law's opinion of their marriage and especially of AeRae-- but having them run over to AeRae house and belittle AeRae's family was a little too much-- same old same old -- seen it too much in other dramas. I thought things would heat up more, but with Seung Hyun showing more interest in AeRae and then the three of them going at it. A question: Was Jung Woo's family rich from the beginning? I knew he was a smart nerd, and that AeRae's family was not well off, and even though his family may have been better off, I didn't think they were snobby rich. I thought he was well off because his business took off. (Did you know that Joo SangWook made a guest appearance on "Running Man"? it was ep 169)

The in-laws going over to AeRa's family didn't bother me at all. That's what a nasty Korean in-laws would do, I think. And another reason it didn't ring false with me is I have not seen a lot of that in K-drama so far. I guess we watch different dramas.
i don't think JungWoo's family is particularly rich, otherwise when he was struggling in the beginning they would've helped out.
Omg, that whole scene when JungWoo was preventing AeRa from leaving work was so hilarious! I was dying from laughter when he ran down the hall yelling and grabbing at her. I'm assuming he was preventing her from leaving because he had an inkling she was going to celebrate her birthday with SeungHyun??
When SeungHyun finds AeRa's wedding album... that was quite exciting... the song that started playing at that moment is so beautiful, I love the singer's voice.
Okay, episode 11... First of all, that painting of SeungHyun was hideous. If I were JungWoo I would've urged SH to present the painting to her cuz after seeing that, what tiny bud of something (if anything) were blooming for him would just wither... so funny!
The chicken-leg fight was hysterical. You think with them doing Tae Kwon Do or Judo or whatever before, they were gonna do some tough-guy fighting but no... chicken-leg fight. Omg, so funny!
I think JungWoo is sooo cute when he's jealous. And secretary Gil egging him on on the side. Very very funny!
But I didn't like the way this episode ended at all, with AeRa putting her hand on SeungHyun's back when he was hugging her. I was like, "Take your hand off him, that hand belongs to JungWoo!!!
Oh by the way, where can I see episode 169 of "Running Man"? The one in DramaFever only went up to 118...

I found out about the Running Man episode by going to Joo Sang Wook Wiki page. From what I can tell it is called episode 169 when you search for it on Youtube. By looking at the title of the episode "escape from the helmet race", I figured it out to be ep 80 on Drama Fever. Wiki also lists him as being on Ep 76, 77, but just a quick look tonight and I wasn't able to easily track it down--these are from 2012, ep 80 is from 2013. I'll try to look for it another time....

Hi Birdy, thanks for the info - just watched the "Running Man" episode with Joo SangWook in it over at YouTube. I skipped to only JSW scenes. Omg, he is so cute! He just seems like such a fun guy. Didn't really understand what they were doing half the time, but maybe cuz I didn't watch the whole thing? Also came across a show called "Invincible Youth" with him in it, so I watched that too. He is TOO adorable!
Episode 12: What did you think about YeonJin's outburst in front of her father? I thought the whole thing was a little ironic, with her going on about how her father didn't mind having just a shell of her mother or whatever. I mean isn't she going for the same thing? Doesn't she want JungWoo when she knows his heart is with AeRa? Then she says what she fears the most is that she might become like her father. I think she already is. And then what the heck? Why does JungWoo take her to her bedroom and help her to bed? Her brother just came in and is right there. Should t it be the brother's job? JungWoo is not her fiancé or anything. Strange.
YeonJin is really getting on my nerves now. Now that insinuating she's dating JungWoo is not working, she's resorting to gaining sympathy from AeRa by telling her about the accident that cost her her husband and her leg. Isn't that rather low? Pretty despicable if you ask me. She's getting really pathetic.
Loved the ending of this episode, so romantic with the white petals falling all around them as he's kissing her. Do you suppose when actors kiss on screen they use their own style or do they follow the director's advice? The way JungWoo was kissing AeRa reminded me of something I read a while back in one of those fashion magazines. It was on how a guy holds the girl when he's kissing her and what it says about him. If a guy has both his hands on either side of her head when he's kissing her that means he's controlling; if his hand is on the back of her head that means he's supportive and caring. If he kisses her and he has his arms around her body he's protective of her; if his arms are just hanging at his side he is hesitant and lacking confidence. JungWoo had his hand at the back of AeRa's head - that means he's supportive and caring. Awww. Wonder if that's Joo SangWook the actor too...
I am IN LOVE with the voice of the singer who sings "You Don't Know." Looked it up and his name is Oh Yoo Jun. He has such a beautiful voice. Listening to this song ALL day!!!

Fiona, you are sooo funny! How can you just watch parts of "Running Man"? Basically, the show is a set of challenges to get to the end. Most of the shows end with a challenge where they have to tear the name tags off the backs of the other challengers until only one is left and he is the winner. The winner usually wins something made out of gold. My favorite episode has them in a flooded rice paddy and G-Dragon is on his back in the muddy water doing the back stroke-- some of the episode are really funny. Ok-- on to this show. I know I am up to ep 14, so I will try not to say too much, but it seems there is more to the connection with YeonJin's family than just her one-sided love with JungWoo. YeoJin is so conniving. I thought she was just falling for JungWoo but she is going so way overboard to have her way it is just crazy. The way she treats AeRa is just horrible. Same goes for that girl who works with AeRae, she is such a back stabber! I liked the ending, too. Never have seen Cherry Blossom trees in person, but this reminded me and I think it must be beautiful to see. I know there have been references in past dramas about seeing first snow with someone who will ended being your true love (or something like that) and seeing the flowers petals all around them made me think this might have been what the writers were thinking of. Will have to pay more attention to the music, but what I remember hearing I do like a lot. Have you started episode 14, yet? What about 13?

Hey Birdy, here's the link to that song I love so much: m.youtube.com/watch?v=oA4gOutRxVEHis voice is so emotional, full of sadness. I get goosebumps everytime I listen to it. Love it. Oh god no, I can't watch a whole hour of a variety show. Just the scenes with my fave actors please!!! Episode 13: one question - HOW do they get "plastic flower" out of lovesickness??? Someone answer me please!! JungWoo is getting cuter every episode. The only thing I didn't like is when he texted her saying she was pretty at the meeting. I mean that act itself was cute but it just felt like he wasn't listening to what she was saying. And then that wink... I'm a little torn about whether that was appropriate or not. Oh what the heck, I'll just go with it. And the way he read her name out loud as if he'd never heard of it. Hee hee, so cute! The hand-grabbing scene in the elevator almost killed me, it was so funny!! Ohmgosh, his nonchalant expression when Manager Kang turned around!! And that scene when JungWoo and AeRa were looking at the bag - I loved the way JungWoo's playful voice and demeanor changed 180 degrees when YeonJin comes in. And when he puts his hand on AeRa's shoulder telling YeonJin in body language that AeRa is the woman he's after. Woohoo, go JungWoo!!!!

Wow-- thanks for the link, Fiona. That is one beautiful, powerful song, the singer is awesome. It is so sad, but so wonderful to listen to. Yeah-- every time I saw the words "plastic flower" I just had to laugh-- what a translation! All I could think of was that if you were love sick, it most likely a one-sided love, thus a "fake" love-- like a fake or plastic flower..... I agree,I think JungWoo is really growing as he reaches out to try and figure out what is going on between him and AeRae--- but as a CEO I think sometimes he is just too childish-- like with the texting-- reaching to secretly hold her hand was more understandable since it didn't happen when she was actually working. Even when he touched AeRae's shoulder, I can understand what you were saying about his making a point with YeonJin, but still that was out of hand for a workplace, especially since he is the CEO. If seen by anyone else or if YeoJin said anything about it to others it could make AeRae's work life really miserable.
