Ep.13 -
Geumsil decides to look for digs in Seoul. Much to Soo-ae's horror, Wonsook's real estate guy jollies the two combatants (Geumsil and Wonsook) into signing a lease. Geumsil will live in and run a small convenience store in the ground floor of Wonsook's home/building. Horrified, Soo-ae wonders if the whole hometown will be moving to Seoul. Apparently they are--Mandeuk boards a bus for Seoul.
Mandeuk heads for the hospital and annoys Mija and then Geumsil, who brushes him off with a flea in his ear. When G gives Mija the news on her new digs, Mija looks as alarmed as Soo-ae did. But Mrs Go is happy about the news. She has asked Baldy if he would let her use his restaurant during closing hours to make and sell other foods so she can make more money, and after some hesitation, he agrees for the rent of a month’s worth of herbal tea leaves, to be refilled as necessary.
And the tea is like catnip to her customers. This brings her to the attention of David Kim’s chauffeur, Dongsik, who doesn’t seem to notice that Geumsil, the person he tried to get make noodles for David Kim, is accompanying her. He also was not with David when the latter ran over Bongshil with his car, you’ll remember. He reports to David that he suspects the tea of being an addictive substance. Since as we all know this is David’s bête noire, he looks very alarmed indeed. Dongsik reports that Mrs Go is living with Wonsook, who apparently goes by the name of Grace Park.
Meanwhile, Mrs Go runs into Jincheol’s hapless brother Byung-gyun, who is living rough on the streets while his brother lives it up. She brings him home, but he won’t talk to anyone, so she calls his brother. Jincheol tells them BG had an accident which bankrupted him and also is kind of crazy, that he escaped from a hospital. He avoids further questioning, and when BG appears to be wavering in the face of Mrs Go and Uncle Seo handing him some money (which they can scarcely afford), Jincheol drags him off and threatens him. BG says Mr Seo is haunting his dreams. He doesn’t know the same thing is happening to Jincheol, who tells his brother that the dead will be dead, whether you kill them yourself or not. At least, I think that was the nonsense he was babbling. What a piece of work.
But there’s comedy as well. Soo-ae (on behalf of Inyoung) and Kyungsoo (acting for Jaesoo) manage the two young people’s text messaging and coach them on how to attract each other and/or “win.” Inyoung agrees to stay at the apartment, but only if Jaesoo stops acting like a loon. She’s kind of put out that he’s not so demonstrative as usual, but obviously that wasn’t working for him so Kyungsoo is a good advisor after all.
Oh, right. Yoon gets a call from Junghyun, asking to meet her right away at the latter's pottery class. Yoon scoots over there aaaaand..didn't watch that part yet...lol...

(Not quite finished with episode. Will revise this post when I am.)
Pretty cute when David Kim thought the kimbob was literally addictive. He never heard the expression, so Dongsik had to explain to him. For such a sophisticado, David Kim is kind of naïve.
I was sure Jincheol would notice the tea leaves and turn it to his advantage, but he didn’t. I wonder why they had them laid out so prominently when he arrived. (The production team, I mean, not Mrs G.)
END OF EPISODE 13:
At Junghyun’s clay studio, Yoon is offered an envelope full of cash for her services rendered. She twists up her lips and gives Junghyun a good talking-to about fear, image and power, and then she leaves the scripts (on top of the money). Yoon goes outside and takes a seat in the cold. Junghyun stares at her out the window, then goes back to her potting, but is clearly distracted by the scripts.
At Inyoung’s market, Niki sees a bunch of juvenile delinquents drinking juices and putting them back. A fight ensues, and Inyoung (after dithering about) brings a broom into the fray. Everyone is hauled to the police station, where the mothers who spoiled the boys in the first place attack Niki (whose real name is Lee Jungwoo). The police call Soo-ae, and Wonsook, an “expert at this” changes into a suitably tough costume and trails along. She demands that they look at the CCTV footage, where the truth is revealed. Oh, no, says Wonsook, 3 against 1! Mob violence! Theft! Burglary! The three mothers, previously decrying this violent attack, suddenly decide they should all calm down and discuss things rationally, since it’s not that bad. Niki sits on the side, looking embarrassed.
At Bongshil’s restaurant-within-a-restaurant concept, Mangeum is depressed that Geumsil wlll stay in Seoul. Bongshil gently scolds him that she’s lonely, and she’s like Mija’s parent, so he has to honor her as such, and he agrees and seems to feel better. Later, at the opening, custom is good as Uncle Seo plays his guitar and sings (much to Versace’s fury). But soon there’s a raid. Dongsik and his GQ goons demand to see the herb, and when she’s too petrified to comply, they start turning tables over. Uncle Seo is pushed down, Mangeum punched in the eye, and just as Soo-ae and Wonsook return from the police station, Baldy and Mrs Go are hauled off in a big black car. They’re taken to parking garage in a bad part of town where David Kim has set up court. His back turned, he demands (in a fairly impressive voice), “What’s the tea made of?” Bongshil, scared silly, doesn’t answer and he turns around and receives a shock of recognition.
