Are they celebrating “Thanksgiving” in yesterday’s episode? Or is this a totally different holiday? It seems to be a time for remembering deceased relatives with customs that seem to include setting up a table full of food in a certain arrangement in honor of the deceased and visiting their graves to pay their respects. Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

I'm by no means an expert, but they did refer to it as "Thanksgiving" and it seems to me that the Korean Thanksgiving holiday is a time to remember the dead, but includes rituals and also careful and elaborate food preparation. The feast part seems equivalent to our Thanksgiving. It does appear to be an important holiday that's somewhat solemn.

Thanks Jade for confirming the fact that they did say “Thanksgiving” when talking about the preparations for the approaching holiday. I thought that I was mistaken.

They are celebrating (Chu - Suk) holiday based on fall harvest. Much like Thaksgiving in US, most people go to visit their family homes and hold ceremonies to honor dead ancestors (mother/ father/ grand parents). it is capped by family banquet/ dinner like Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving would be the closest thing that Americans can relate to. I hope this helps to clarify.

They are celebrating (Chu - Suk) holiday... Thank you Han1 for providing us with the Korean name for the holiday being depicted in YH. It's very interesting to learn of the Korean culture and their traditions as we enjoy watching their dramas.
