en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lady_Mishil. She seems to be in only one source from the Hwarang . We know she does not appear in Samguk Yusa or Sagi . It seems though that it could be plausible that records of her were removed after her death for a variety of reasons . It happened in Egypt and a more recent example was Tudor England where records of Richard III were destroyed as the Tudors had a weak claim to the throne and needed to justify their overthrow of Richard so he was depicted as a monster who murdered his nephews . Later on it turns out the Tudors were not so thorough and a few records were unearthed through the ages that have caused many to question the Tudor stance . I bring this up as an example of how History can be altered or totally blacked out . And the question is could a similar thing have happened with Mishil ?. Truth could probably clarify this and if he pops in his thoughts would be appreciated .

BTW i just read Park Jumi who plays Deokman was seriously injured in a car crash on Oct 23rd and the role of Deokman may have to be recast . Also Choi Soo Jong fell of a horse a week later but was released from hospital the same day .
Given the many accidents there has even been talk of bringing in an exorcist as many claim the production is cursed .
Park a single mother is still in ICU and does not look like returning .
All this news is over a week old so someone may have more updates .

Oh no, that poor young woman! I hope she recovers well. What a blow to her and her child.
DYC, isn't this show already in the can? Wasn't it from 2009? I have the entire show on DVD already...

Again, this article claims that Mishil was lovers with three kings (Jinhyeong, Jinji AND Jinpyeong, in addition to the latter's father) over a 56-year period. What the heck?

Remember me mentioning there was a Korean novel revolving around Mishil and her active social life? Thar you go.
If QSD was a show that went that route, revolving around THAT Mishil, I probably wouldn't watch it. Not that fond of femme fatale shows

You mean the person who wrote the Wikipedia entry used that novel as a source? Geez. Hilarious.

You misunderstand. The novel was based on the Mishil recorded in Hwarang Segi. This certain wiki article wasn't around when the novel first came

Actually Bo i posted it in the wrong thread should have been in Kings Dream which it now is ,but as so many seem to be watching both i left it . Anyway i mentioned about historical records being blacked out so question is as she is mentioned in the Hwarang records and she allegedly was their head for a while . So my thought is she may have existed after all . Any opinions ?.

D'oh! Well, I finally found out Cheongmyeong was a real person, so I guess Mishil could have been. In the Hwarang records, how complete is the picture? Is she just listed as a "female warrior" or did they say she was their spiritual leader for such and such a time, and was married to whom, and tried to take over the government? It's all very confusing to Bo.

Not knowing any better, I assume all these shows start with at least some grain of truth.

I think she ruled them as the head of the ruling political faction though Spiritual Leader makes senses and Deokman also ruled them in similar fashion .
My thought process is that she appears in the Hwarang records as she was some form of leader but may have been blacked out of other records because lets say she was not a nice person and caused a lot of trouble for want of a better reason .

The better reason might be, "She was a woman." After all, Confucian historians followed on the heels of Shillan ones.
