PSY's performance of "Gangnam Style" last weekend on Inkigayo featured Sistar, After School and KARA.
Speaking of KARA, they're expected to return with a new mini album during the month of August.
Things have quieted down a bit when it comes to T-ara. It seems like Hwa Young, and possibly her sister Hyo Young, might be looking for a new entertainment company. They both met with representatives from Maru Entertainment. The CEO of the company denies that they met for that reason. Supposedly, he just wanted to console them.
In completely unrelated news, I've become a Lizzy and Nana (from After School) shipper. I know. There's something seriously wrong with me. You don't have to tell me. I blame DYC. He's a bad influence. LOL.
My avatar and the gifs above come from an After School Chinese greeting video.
Japanese singer Mai Kuraki will release a new single on August 15. You can preview both songs, "Special morning day to you" and "Koi ni Koishite", from the single using the links provided above.
I'd post more JPop on here but I don't listen to as much JPOP as I used to. It's really just Mai Kuraki and Utada Hikaru I listen to anymore and neither is all that active. And, of course, when a Korean artist like KARA, 2NE1 or Girls Generation releases a Japanese single.
PSY's "Gangnam Style" music video has gone viral. After making the rounds on twitter, it's been talked about or featured on CNN, Billboard, Rolling Stone, E's The Soup Blog, The LA Times, The Huffington Post, The Wall Street Journal and Smosh. The video gotten over 18 million views on Youtube.
Very catchy ..Suzuki has been around since the late 90's at one point she was as big as her rival Ayumi Hamasaki than she did the unforgivable ..broke off and sued her manager and record company as such her career was destroyed ..she than took roles in dramas and started her own indie label and built her way back up to the top .
This song Potential Breakup Song a cover of a song by an American duo Aly and Aj was one of her comeback hits than she joined up with the duo for yet another rendition and was a hit again ..funnily enough the original version by Aly and Aj did nothing in their native US . Well maybe not true they are /were big in christian markets ,funnily enough the sisters were also Disney girls and like their J Pop compatriot had a falling out with their record company and now have to perform as 78 Violet having lost the rights to their name .
Now aged 31 Suzuki is just as popular as she ever was unlike her one time rival Hamasaki who seems to be fading .
Miss A captured in a very recent performance . www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pz76H3pOEqU Funny observations on these girls the clip is obviously lip synching but we all know Suzy is the most popular member and by far the prettiest ,Min is the best singer and dancer of the group or should i say duo because we rarely see the two Chinese sisters sing outside of a chorus ,discounting MV's which show all 4 singing looking at live clips of the same songs you will see Min and Suzi carrying the vocal load .
Not to impressed with D UNIT but the comments on YT are funny .
I have to say. You guys are scaring me. LOL. So much fandom.
From Dae Jang-geum: Sun-dol: "Are you trying to dry me up and kill me? Why do you say the same things over and over every day? Rather, come and hit me once! Aigu!" But then: Dr. Lazarus: "By Grabthar's hammer, by the suns of Warvan... You shall be avenged."
After School held a fan meeting today (Sunday, August 12) in Korea. Some lucky Google+ users got a chance to "hangout" with After School in their dressing room before the fan meeting. It was streamed live on youtube at around 1:20am Chicago time. I only managed to catch it towards the end when Lizzy was on. She was the last one to interact with the fans. I think fans enjoyed their interaction with Lizzy since she's the one that speaks the most English. Nana wasn't around for the dressing room hangout but was at the fan meeting.
Live streaming of the fan meeting was supposed to start around 3:30am Chicago time. It didn't start until around 5am (if I remember correctly) and was the last 18 mins. or so of the event. Fans that waited for the live streaming were disappointed in missing most of the fan meeting and not getting to see Kahi, who had been there earlier. Video and audio quality of the event was poor. You can watch the dressing room hangout and footage of the fan meeting on youtube.
DSP girl group KARA is back with their 5th mini album Pandora. The title track is a pop dance track by sweetune, who also produced other KARA hits like Mister, Lupin and Step. I like "Pandora" but I'm not crazy about the rest of the songs on the mini album.
