LOL. I said those who got MARRIED.
I think if we go much further with this train of thought, I might get yelled at by the moderator.
I heard that about the Koreans making fun of Chinese for not taking baths, too, but I don't remember where I heard that...

Aw, now when have I ever yelled at anybody? And besides, everybody knows yelling at Bo is inviting a world of hurt! But that aside, speculate all you like about gay marriage in the past. It's an interesting question, if a completely impossible one, beyond How quickly would they be banished or executed.
When truth mentioned Mokjong I immediately flashed back to Iron Empress, and how they totally ducked the issue by making him gay only when he took drugs. truth, thanks for the post because it's interesting to hear that he actually was believed to be gay. Unfortunate that the series felt it had to duck that.
P.S. A while back I heard a Korean reporter make some prideful comment about how "Koreans are always neat and clean." It was a real head-scratcher, but I think there was some Chinese angle to whatever the story was. Now it makes sense.

There is a record of him having relationship with his concubine as well as guys. I'll go into more detail in my later translations as soon as I finish my translations for Sungjong era. I think that reporter was just plain stupid.

Its interesting topic because really the term homosexual did not exist in that world ,it was the Euro's who introduced that term as well as kissing ,and those Euro's they only bathed once a year and used perfumes to cover the foul odors ,so Koreans and Japanese must have been total neat freaks compared to their Eurotrash counterparts . Of the three big Asian Kingdoms Japan were really big on homosexuality with young boys they were a bi sexual race but the man boy stuff was similar to the Spartans a sort of warrior bonding which i believe also was a big thing with the Hwarang . Considering the whole south west coast of Japan was colonized by survivors of Baekje when Baekje fell and most of the big shot Samurai clans were of Baekje descent ,these survivors also bought the latest metals for weapons as well as ceramics and the Budhist faith ,What must be ironic is that these same descendants would constitute the invasion force for the Imjin War .
