Oooooooooooooh, I love awards.
Let me think up some good categories...
Straying sort of off-topic - why do the women always take their shoes off before setting out to commit suicide? Are they afraid someone's going to scold their corpse for getting their shoes wet?

The men do it too. Probably ties into the thing that people generally do when they are going to kill themselves, they set everything in order. I assume you're referring to people who commit suicide on a cloth they are sitting on. They take their shoes off because that's what Koreans do when they go somewhere to sit down, right? The cloth is taking the place of the floor inside their home. Also, people (anywhere) who kill themselves by drowning in the sea commonly take off their clothing and their shoes and fold them neatly on the beach. As if they need them to be dry when they get out. Doesn't make sense, but people do it.

Yes but only including those that survive the jump .
Than off course they usual either have amnesia and are found by their future faithful companions or are captured and sent to Spartacus land being the Arena .

Regarding the shoes, I was specifically thinking of ...
1) EunGo in Gaebek before jumping off the cliff, 2) Can't remember her name, the hussy in Great King Sejong who took off her shoes before wading into a lake to drown. 3) Wang Guhn's Wife #1 when she was going to wade into a lake and drown (but changed her mind). 4) Too bad I can't remember if Madam Jami took off her shoes before wading into the ocean.
Memorable Cliff Jumps: 1)Yum Moon going off a cliff into the ocean while still riding his horse in Emperor of the Sea. He must have heard about the famous diving horse at Atlantic City's Steel Pier. 2) Most Romantic Jump - Geumram and Gulsabiwu in DJY. Probably the most realistic/least ridiculous Cliff Jump. 3) Most Impressive Cliff Jump - Haemosu in Jumong, for reasons previously stated. 4) Best Underwater Bodice-Ripping - YeoGu in King Guncheogo (he must have seen Pirates of the Carribean). 5) Most ludicrous gap in continuity - Gwanggaeto, who fell off a cliff in one scene, and in the next was being carted off into slavery in a different suit of clothes, not a scratch on him, and no explanation. 6) finally the Award for Most Cliff Jumps in One Drama goes to.... stay tuned.

Speaking of Emperor Yom Moon was called Yom Jang in the version that was aired on the late AZN TV and is also the name used in the few English historical texts on the subject of Bogo . If my memory serves me re Jami we never saw her feet she was staring at the sea than looked back than we see her up to her waist in water . Still kills me that as Cheonchu i was expecting a ramp up on the Jami character and instead we got Xena goes to Goryeo . I totally agree on Geumram and Gulsabiwu that was a cliff jump that was such an integral part of their story so much that you did not notice it as a cliche ,mind you that was back in the early days of cliff jumping before it became de riguer for every pre Joseon Historical .. I am sure Kim Yushin and Kim Chunchu will go cliff jumping in Dream Of The Great (Sell Out ) King prior to entering Gladiator School of course .

Speaking of Dream of the Great King, I heard that Kim Chunchu won't be an important character until ep23 or so. QSD will be the main heroine until ep23 and a lot of focus will also be on Kim Yushin througout the whole drama as well.

6) finally the Award for Most Cliff Jumps in One Drama goes to.... stay tuned. Does it have to be a drama? The movie "War of the Arrows"(2011) had more than its fair share... And it had less that two hours to do it.

Because she is the heroine the whole way through in the present drama, right? Well, I guess a case could be made for her sister being the heroine, or maybe for Mishil being the antihero. Bo

Bo Yes, I'm talking about DGK. Speaking of Mishil, she won't be in DGK since she is thought to be a fictional character by most scholars.

LOL, I know. I was just saying, she's very important to this drama. In fact, I think I like her bestest.
