Looking better though i think the one series to watch is going to be The Borgia's ,with Cesare freed from the trappings of the clergy and seeking revenge on pretty much the whole cast . www.youtube.com/watch?v=0677JSQhdqA

I read that the story was changed from the novel. Rob's wife has a new name and background. She's played by Oona Chaplin, the granddaughter of Charlie Chaplin and Oona O'Neill Chaplin. gameofthrones.wikia.com/wiki/Oona_Chaplin www.imdb.com/name/nm2772105/Are you all enjoying the series? I liked the 4 books I read, but I don't have cable and am thinking of renting the first season, or part of it.

The series is great. What makes it so worth watching are the performances and portrayals of the characters, my personal favorite being Tyrion Lannister and Arya Stark.

I read that the story was changed from the novel. There are changes from the books but nothing that's changed the story completely. For example, one of the girls that works in Petyr Baelish's brothel, Rose, isn't a character from the books. She was made up for the series. One of Dany's bodyguards was beheaded in S2. He should still be alive. He was killed off because the actor left the series. Other characters that should have already appeared by this point, based on relation to the books, are MIA so far. These characters should eventually make an appearance. Not sure how prominent their roles will be. Part of the challenge for the GOT production team is the way GRRM wrote the books. There's no main character, family or region, for the series to revolve around. There's a bunch of POV (point of view) characters. All spread out in different parts of the map. Having to fit all those storylines into 10 episodes isn't easy.

George R R Martin is also behind the re release of a fantastic series of books known as The Accursed Kings by the late French Author Maurice Druon , Martin has written the liner notes and introduction . The series is the true story of when Jaques De Molay the leader of the Templars was burned he cursed the French Royal line which would extend into the British Royal line and the Papacy ,over the course of the seven books we are led into everything you can ever imagine . The first book The Iron King comes out next week ,Amazon have them for about 10 bucks a pop ,well worth a read .

I have a hunch Jon Snow will become the eventual ruler ,and its a hunch because Martin still has not finished the final book . As the 3rd book became two books we still have about another 5 seasons to go ,I wonder if HBO will be able to keep it going ?.

Season 3 Episode 1Jon meets with Mance Rayder, the king beyond the wall. Jon tells Mance he wants to join the Wildlings and fight on the side that fights for the living. Robb and his army continue to march South. He's still at odds with his mother over the release of Jaime Lannister. Tyrion asks his father Tywin for Casterly Rock. Tywin would rather be consumed by maggots than do that. Petyr Baelish talks to Sansa about the possibility of smuggling her out of King's Landing. Stannis sits at Dragonstone not doing much of anything. Margaery's charitable acts receive praise from Joffrey much to Cersei's displeasure. Dany's dragons aren't growing fast enough for her sake. She considers purchasing an army of slave soldiers known as The Unsullied. Barristan Selmy introduces himself to Dany and wishes to serve her. Note: In the books, Barristan uses an alias with Dany. I think they changed this for the TV series because viewers know it's him. The alias becomes pointless. No Arya or Bran Stark, Brienne and Jaime in this episode. They should all appear in the next one. Daenerys Meets The UnsulliedInside The Episode #1Episode 2 PreviewBrief recaps and screen shots of future episodes will depend on whether I have enough free time to do so.

HBO said the third book Storm Of swords was to big to fit into one season (so why did they just not make 20 episodes and can one of their other less than stellar series for a year ) ,they also said with Martins consent paired down some of the story lines and left out some of the new characters that come into the third book .
Still a lot going on in this and a lot of really interesting plot lines , Watch Jofferey's wife in this one im guessing as i have not read the books she may emerge as a major player .

I hope Margaery's grandmother still has a big part. I enjoyed her presence, in the book. There are teasers here: www.tvovermind.com/game-of-thrones/game-of-thrones-teasers-season-3-episode-2-dark-wings-dark-words/ I'll have to check back there regularly...

Some big changes ....
(1)Each episode runs an extra 5 min's than the prior seasons .
(2)The Bastard Of Bolton appears finally ,he was one of the major characters in the books in fact he is the second major character ,for some reason probably time constraints HBO decided to leave him out ,the outrage from fans was deafening so finally HBO relented and cast him (he was mentioned in season 2 ) he is the one who rescues Theon only to return him to captivity , so this gives you an indication he is not a nice guy , I cannot connect him he is a Stark but not from Neds offspring .
