Thanks for posting, lucky...yeah that drama didn't seem to be very popular with most people. Obviously you agree. A shame that it wasn't better.

History said she didn't marry anyone. I wonder why the wrong information was given in the narration. That's false. History did say she married. She didn't marry Gukban though. Gukban is also his real name, not his king name(Seondeok's real name is Deokman for ex). He shouldn't have been subtitled as "King Gukban." That makes him sound like he was an actual king. The accurate subtitle for his name should have been the Galmun King Jinahn. Galmun King was basically a honorary title given to high ranking Shilla royal family members that weren't kings, as in the one and only king of Shilla. Queen Seondeok was married to Galmun King Eum.

So Seondok was married eh...I wonder though why she didn't had any children...even the Queen after her didn't had one. If she got married then wouldn't that make her husband the king?

If she got married then wouldn't that make her husband the king? No. Queen Elizabeth is married and her husband isn't a king, either.

If she got married then wouldn't that make her husband the king? When a man marries a reigning queen he doesn't become king, he becomes Prince Consort. Or at least that's how it works in the British monorachy.

Thanks for the replies. I was confused about that because in QSD, her marrying Bidam became such a huge issue. Bidam's faction was happy because he can become a king and Chunchu didn't like the idea either because that will make Bidam his rival... but maybe they were only thinking about what will happen if the queen dies, then that will make Bidam the king?

if the queen dies, then that will make Bidam the king? Again, I'm not too familiar with Korean monarchy but in British monarchy he would never become king simply because the queen dies. For instance if Queen Elizabeth II dies before Prince Philip he would not become King. It has to be a direct bloodline. So the next ruling monarch would be Prince Charles, her son (God forbid!) or most likely Prince William, her grandson. When the King or Queen is very young then obviously the real power behind the scene can be the parent.

Almost everything in QSD is fiction. GKD, although definitely nowhere near perfect, has more history in it than QSD.

Current NK-SK situation is like modern day GKD
South Korea = Shilla. Threatned by North Korea(Goguryeo)
US = Tang China. Powerful ally in aid of SK(Shilla)
North Korea = Goguryeo. Dares to pick a fight against the most powerful country(Tang/US) in their respective times. Capital city is Pyongyang like Goguryeo.
