Well with Empress her history is compiled in the reign of Sejong by confucian scholars so given the obvious prejudice it makes sense to add balance i guess but KBS tilted it too much in the wrong direction .

This has nothing to do with topic, but this just crossed my mind.
All great leaders in Korean history seemed to have died early. Famous ones like Sejong(died age 53), Gwanggaeto(died age 39), Jumong(died 39) all died early.
King Jin Heung(QSD's grandfather), who is considered as the greatest Silla king, died at 36.
Geunchogo died at 51.
If you look at great leaders of Koryo dynasty, Emperor Sungjong from Iron Empress died at the age of 37. He was a great leader unlike how he was portrayed in Iron Empress. Emperor Hyunjong from Iron Empress died at age of 39. Emperor Gwangjong from Dawn of Empire died at 50.
All the puppet leaders of Koryo all lived to be a lot older than the great leaders. The first emperor of the warrior regime Myungjong died at 71. Emperor Gojong from God of Warriors died at 67. The first Mongol puppet monarch King Choongnyol died at 72.
I guess great leaders die early for putting too much of their energy in their dedication and passion to their country, while the puppet leaders live long for doing nothing but eating, sleeping, and partying.

Gwanggaeto's son Jangsu lived to be in his 90's. He reaped the benefits of Gwanggaeto's efforts.
He ruled when Goguryeo was at it's height.

Speculation....will the story be that of a good guy goes bad story? Will Kim Jun lose his more virtuous qualities as the drama goes by? I think you posted the question on the wrong thread lol. This is a thread for King Muyeol. I have no idea how the story is going to be. Kim Joon was actually the worst of all military dictators including Choi Choong Hun, so I think he should go bad later to fit real history. But who knows what Lee Hwan Gyung will decide to do?

Hi truth, it is Friday 7:30pm....just read your reply to my Novel. Thanks much for the info that Choi Soo Jong will still be in the drama...that was very kind of you responding so quick as I am sure you have more important things to do besides reading and answering my requests, however, is there really anything else in life more important then info re:CSJ Wow,you are in Southern Cali...what a small world after all. My son (Larry) visits me from Mid May till 5th July...with his family, then it is off to Cali for him to spend the rest of his time at ZUMA beach with his SURFING friends... He stays at the Hotel California in Santa Monica each year for the past 8-9 years..I usually go there for 3-4 days before he returns to Germany, but this year will not as I spend all my extra funds buying & spoiling my two grandchildren age 8&10.gifts. Do you know where the Hotel California is & are you familiar with Santa Monica....I will assume you are . Thanks again for all the info and have a nice day, since in Chicago we changed the time so now am confused as to Chgo-Cali is it still 2 hours difference? anyhow, not that important, will figure it out when back in Chicago...Cali was always 2 hours earlier then Chgo... Take care, enjoy the day, here in Germany we are 9 hours LATER then you.

Choi is still in the drama? Doesn't that kind of guarantee that Taejong Muyeol will be a goody goody? I still can't finish Wang Gun because his character is a saint. Nothing interesting ever happens because h is perfect all around.

Nothing interesting ever happens because h is perfect all around. That's true. Choi's characters are always based on Liu Fei from the Chinese Romance of Three Kingdoms, who is a total saint in that novel. It's not only Choi's character, all of his close friends and sometimes enemies are based on characters from Romance of Three Kingdoms as well. I mean we have the three blood brother thing(originally Liu Fei, Guan Yu, Zhang Fei) in Wang Guhn, Emperor of the Sea, and Dae Jo Young. I'm kinda worried that they might do that again with Taejong Muyeol. CSJ as Muyeol(Liu Fei), Choi Jae Sung as Kim Yushin(Guan Yu), and some other guy as Zhang Fei resembling character. But then again, it might be different this time since it is being written by the writer of Age of Warriors. Plus, I'm pretty sure many Korean people would be very unhappy to see a saint-like Muyeol. Many Koreans see Muyeol as a traitor who teamed up with foreign power to achieve glory. Do you know where the Hotel California is & are you familiar with Santa Monica....I will assume you are . I am familiar with Santa Monica, although I haven't been there for almost 2 years now. And Yes, Chicago and Cali have 2 hour difference.

The difference is his goodness is always rewarded whereas Liu Bei meets a tragic end without fulfilling his goals. So do his brothers.

The difference is his goodness is always rewarded whereas Liu Bei meets a tragic end without fulfilling his goals. So do his brothers. Well, that's not always the case for CSJ, either. In Dae Jo Young, CSJ's brother Heuk Sudol, who is supposed to resemble Zhang Fei, died tragically. In Emperor of the Sea, CSJ's Jang Bogo(=Liu Bei) and his blood brother(=Guan Yu) all died tragically. This actually happened in history though

I guess dying in battle is at least honorable. Zhang Fei was beheaded by his own soldiers. And Liu Bei died after he abandoned his cause for revenge, losing 700,000 soldiers.
I find it interesting how ROTK punishes Liu Bei's black and white morality and reward Cao Cao and Sima Yi's ruthless and cunning. It's the opposite in Korean historical. With the exception of AOW, the bad guys lose, the good guys (after much harship) win.
It's also interesting to see Liu Bei's sudden twist from a selfless hero to a revenge crazed maniac.
