This thread is for discussion of episode 5 of Eight Days Mystery of Jeong Jo Assassination. Please check the drama info & schedule thread for more info and rules on how to avoid spoilers and such. --------------------------------------------------------- The Noron party plans to attack Jeong Jo while he's at the Western Command post during the military drill. They will put their own men in the rear patrol, made up of soldiers from the military training command, in order to ambush Jeong Jo while using the drill as a distraction. In Bang and Jae Cheon plan to attack Jeong Jo while he's crossing the Han river during the procession. They plan to blow up the bridge to cause a lot more damage. The Noron party plans to kill Jo Shimtae and Lee Myeongshik before the royal reception at Jinmokjeong. The military drill will go as planned but 50 men from the rear patrol will march towards the western commend post, kill all Shipa members and apprehend Jeong Jo. Since In Hyung is being followed, In Bang and Jae Cheon decide to move to another location. The authorities storm their base but they're already gone by the time they arrive. Yak Young warns the guards about the possibility of the Daedong group attacking the bridge. On the morning of the procession, Jeong Jo bids the Queen Dowager farewell before departing. --------------------------------------------------------- This drama has a really nice intro.

The intro is great . That said the problem with this drama is "YI SAN "where the same story was covered in about 4 episodes and very lavish too . Had San not been made this drama would come off so much better . Its not bad it sadly has to live in the shadow of a much bigger drama .
At least the pace is picking up though .

I'm beginning to enjoy it. I especially get a kick out of the fact that Jang-geum's dad's sidekick is Jihyun's dad. LOL. I am also delighted by the diction of the translator. (Hardly ever get to use the word "diction" any more--must grab it.) He/she always seems to choose the most lyrical possible combination. I don't think I'll list any here, because I watched 5 & 6 right after each other, so I'll note my favorites in 6.
The intro is beautiful, I agree. I'm sure when I get to this part of the story in Yi San, it will be rather disconcerting to me.
I have to feel sorry for Inhyung, he's getting increasingly up in over his head.

"FECULANT PHILTRES"......."FECULANT PHILTRES"..... !! What dictionary are these sub-titlers using. It certainly is not one with idiomatic language.

Like I said in Ep.6 thread, Elaine, I think the formalistic language suits the historical format. LOL.
