New show started tonight on Ch. 32: Sleepy Hollow
Ichabod Crane finds himself 250 years in the future and realizes that evil accompanied him to modern-day Sleepy Hollow; Ichabod forms a bond with Detective Abbie Mills after the Headless Horseman murders the sheriff. Exciting and creepy. Good versus Evil ( = the 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse!)

I don't know how knov keeps all of those shows straight. It would melt my tiny mind down to goo. About the only prime-time thing on my list is the final season of Two and a Half Men. Not a Kutcher fan but I want to see how she show goes out. It's been very funny over the years.
And Letterman, of course...and impatiently waiting for more Call the Midwife episodes. And we'll get the seventh season of Doctor Who revival on WTTW starting next month, which I'll watch. I hear there's an Ice Warrior episode; looking forward to that one.
And the one other thing would be the two-part Frontline program coming next month about how the NFL has mishandled the whole head-injury issue for many years. The NFL is way overdue for a major public humiliation on this, so I hope the program is solid.

I don't know how knov keeps all of those shows straight. I often don't. I have trouble remembering the names of all the characters. I just try and remember their faces. This is me on most days (below). And the one other thing would be the two-part Frontline program coming next month about how the NFL has mishandled the whole head-injury issue for many years. The NFL is way overdue for a major public humiliation on this, so I hope the program is solid. I think most sports have dropped the ball on head injuries. The current athletes don't help their own cause. Some act like concussions aren't something that affect them or their sport. I found LeBron James's statement that he's too tough to get a concussion especially troubling.

The difference with the NFL is that they went out of their way for years and years to deny any problem and avoided doing proper research on it. They had a review board headed by a guy who was totally unqualified for the job. It was all about protecting their profits and not about player safety. It's an incredible story and if Frontline tells it like they're capable of telling it...It's no surprise that the NFL settled their litigation before this show aired because it could be explosive.
And I'm curious about the 50th too, sageuk. They did a nice show for the 25th; stayed very true to the show's history. Why do I have a feeling they're going to mangle this one, though...I sure hope not.

I know the story about the NFL. I don't expect much to come of it. I think both the league and the players want to get back to making money. I watched the pilot for Sleepy Hollow on Monday. Good episode. I never heard of the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse before. I tuned into the season 2 premiere The Mindy Project. I don't watch the show but I do find Mindy Kaling funny. James Franco made a cameo appearance. It had its moments but won't continue watching. I'm planning on checking out the series premiere of The Crazy Ones on Thursday.

The horses have different purposes: The title is Biblical, coming from Revelations 6:1-8. There the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse were respectively: Conquest on a white horse; War on a red horse; Famine on a black horse; and Death mounted on a pale horse. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pale_Horse,_Pale_Rider One photo from the show has a white horse, photo 8: www.buddytv.com/slideshows/sleepy-hollow/sleepy-hollow-premiere-and-cast-photos-79612.aspx Conquest? Well, maybe it's just an artistic bending-of-the-rules, unless white equals "pale."

Yeah, Ginny, by "conquest" they are leaving a bit out. The first horse represents conquest by an antichrist, not just by anyone. I never thought about that before, that the first horse is white and the last horse is "pale." Interesting.

ajkI've seen the Three Doctors, and the best part are the interactions between the Doctors, and I really look forward to Ten and Eleven play off of each other. Also, according to news, Peter Davison, the 5th doctor, says he's going to appear in the special, though he won't say what his role is. Is the 5th doctor is going to make an appearance? Or will it be another character altogether who just happens to be an actor who played the Doctor?

Or will it be another character altogether who just happens to be an actor who played the Doctor? Either way it should be interesting. If he's a different character, they can do a "I know you, don't I?" schtick, which is entirely in character with the show. However, there is a history of specials with multiple past doctors, as you note there. So I'm thinking it'll be Davidson Fifth Doctor--maybe they'll meet in those tunnels that Oswin/Clara was bouncing around in Journey to the Centre (Series 7).

Thanks ginny for the info on the 4 horses. I'm liking Sleepy Hollow so far. I'll keep watching. I got nothing else to watch Monday anyway, unless the Bears play on Monday Night Football. The Master's Sun, Two Weeks and Goddess of Marriage are ending at a good time for me. My designated K-Drama time will likely be going to anime the rest of the year. I'm planning on checking out S2 of Infinite Stratos & Valvrave the Liberator, Strike the Blood and Kyokai no Kanata. Infinite Stratos Season 2 PVMecha series. Revolves around the students of a special school for pilots of mobile suits. Only 1 guy is able to pilot the suits. The rest are girls. The trailer makes S2 seem kinda pervy. Maybe S1 was like that but I don't remember anymore. It's been a while. Begins on Friday, October 4. Valvrave the Liberator Season 2 PVMecha series. Set in the future. Most humans live in space. The students of a colony use mobile suits to declare their independence and defend their freedom. Begins on Friday, October 11. Kyokai no Kanata PV 1Kyokai no Kanata PV 2Seems to deal with humans and demons. I don't know much about it but looks interesting. Begins on Thursday, October 3. Strike the Blood PVAbout humans and vampires. Begins on Friday, October 4.

ABC renewed Mistresses for a second season. CBS renewed Unforgettable for a third season. Both shows should air in Summer 2014. HBO already renewed Boardwalk Empire for a fifth season.
I watched the premieres for Person of Interest, Modern Family and The Crazy Ones this week.
Person of Interest: The story with the sailor was kinda weak. Too many regular characters now. The show works better when it's more condensed.
Modern Family: One hour season premiere. I really liked the 2nd episode about the first day of school.
The Crazy Ones: Robin Williams doing voices. Not much of anything else. It was the pilot. Perhaps it will improve. I did like Kally Clarkson's cameo. "It aint the meat, it's the motion." HA!
The only premiere I have left to watch is The Tomorrow People on Wednesday, October 9.

Is anyone watching the show "Hostages, it started last Monday and it looked good. I am also watching "Once Upon a Time", will probably watch the new one "Once Upon a Time in Wonderland" but am not sure if it will be any good. Haven't had a chance to watch Person of Interest, yet but I agree it was a lot better when it first came out.... I am also watching a Japanese Anime called "Dangan Ronpa" it is about a group set up in a new high school, but someone dies and the rest have to figure out who the killer is or they all die, too. There is a character in charge of everything and that character is annoying, but it goes along with the story line. My daughter suggested I watch it, so I am. My son in high school has become a big Dr Who fan, which is funny because my husband and I used to watch it all the time long time ago and he started watching it without us even suggesting it....

bird, I've heard that it's genetic, that Whoism. Look what I've found: Dr Who Meetup Group in Chicago I'm not watching anything you list there, but I am watching an anime on Hulu about a kind of superhero high school city, called A Certain Scientific Railgun. As usual with Anime, odd, fun, faintly disturbing....
