I have been watching it (waiting for gye baek's subs which are taking so long to come out). It is okay, a lot of slow motion at the ends (like chuno) in the first few episodes. The male lead's acting has improved from Iljimae but still not there. I also think he is still too young to be a teacher. I was pleasantly surprised to see the actor who played Goonyae in EWG as the girl's father. I only recognized by his voice, he looks so different.
I am so conflicted in this drama. Grand Prince Su Yang (ex Goongyae) kills his brother for the throne yet he doesn't seem to show any remorse at all. Then I understand he goes on to be a good King. So does the end justify the means?
First two episodes down ,so far its ok a bit slow but knowing whats to come ill stick with it .
Nice to see the girl who played Dae Jo Young's Wife as the Princess she is a prettier version of Kim Tae Hee .
Actor who played Goongyae was also Sejong's father Yi Bangwon in both Tears Of The Dragon and Sejong here he is Prince Su Yang ,both him and the actor playing the King (Sejong's eldest )are too old for their roles .
Still its the no#1 Drama in South Korea right now so ill stick with it .
Actually i take it back it sort of lost me ,Its over now but the real tragic story being the love between the daughter of Sejong's heir and sister of the murdered boy king got pushed aside in favor of the love between a scholar who is the son of one of the murdered ministers and Sejo's daughter .
Anyway the main scholar who is left for dead after his dads demise comes back as a ninja type master swordsman and it all builds to a happy ending that is probably untrue .
