Ooh, ooh, how exciting! So, what do you think of the Wikipedia article? I have absolutely nothing to judge it against.

As most of us know, one of Jeongjo's greatest accomplishments was the construction of the Suwon hwaseong fortress. Obviously the place is a source of pride for today's Suwon's citizens. According to a taxi driver, “The fortress used to be my playground when I was a child, and it is now a big money-maker for me since many visitors take my taxi to visit it". But why did it have to be Suwon? Historian Kim explained that King Jeongjo chose the city after mulling over suggestions made by scholars in books. They chose the place as a “key point of strategic importance to protect the capital.” Suwon sits southwest of Seoul, and it has historically been a key stop for traffic moving from the country’s south to the capital. Think about it. Korea has been an easy target for foreign invasions, and look at what happened during the Imjin War and Manchu Invasions I'm going to Korea this summer, and I might go see this fortress. Watching the real thing is completely different from looking at a picture Source joongangdaily.joins.com/_data/photo/2007/12/30230656There's also a book that the king published that contains records from the construction process. This pretty much shows his dedication to the project-of course I can only show pictures and chinese letters but whatever @bo The thing about wiki articles when it comes to Korean history is that there isn't as much in depth as much as you would like, though granted some records tend to be destoryed

I think you have the wrong end of the stick, DYC--they were stopped in their tracks. It's not a wild west show, it's moderated. Like here. ;D
Sageuk--when do you leave? And do you have anything valuable in your apartment? Be sure to PM the address to me. LOL.
