This thread is for discussion of episode 9 of My Man's Woman. Please check the drama info & schedule thread for more info and rules on how to avoid spoilers and such. --------------------------------------------------------- Joon Pho doesn't immediately go to Hwa Young. He goes to Anmyundo. After leaving him alone for one night, Hwa Young goes to him. Ji Soo and Eun Soo discuss Ji Soo's future. Ji Soo is concerned about how she'll make a living and pay the bills. Eun Soo tries to comfort her. Joon Pho and Hwa Young head back to Seoul together. Once back, Joon Pho goes to see Ji Soo and Kyung Min. Neither of them is happy to see him. Kyung Soo goes to see Hwa Young's brother, Dong Ha. He wants him to intervene so Joon Pho and Ji Soo don't split. Dong Ha then goes to see Hwa Young and they argue about Hwa Young's past and present actions, their family, etc. Kyung Min's tonsils are bothering him so Ji Soo calls Joon Pho to take him to the hospital. Hwa Young, of course, isn't happy about it. --------------------------------------------------------- I can understand Dong Ha being upset with Hwa Young but I thought he went overboard. I'm not sure what Kyung Soo expected him to accomplish anyway. Hwa Young doesn't seem to have a good relationship with her family so I doubt she'd listen to him or anyone else.

There were a number of things I was interested in, in this episode. First was the relationship of Joonpho with his mother. He seems to have been drawn to Jisoo because of dissatisfaction with this relationship. Surely that's a rotten reason to get married, although I know people do it all the time. An aspect of this was that he had no trouble asking her for money to support his illicit liaison with Hwayoung (for the studio apartment to fool his own son and apparently money to get Hwayoung's apartment in the first place). I guess this resolves the mystery of why Jisoo found nothing odd in their bank accounts when she did look. Finally, he had some crust calling Jisoo and telling her of her garlic duty. Seriously? You don't even apologize for the imposition, dude? Joonpho--piece of work. And so classy--"I have to leave because your mom wants me to go."
Second was the dinner conversation between Eunsoo's family. The kids are like their parents, open with each other. This is appealing and seems healthier than over at traditional Jisoo's place. Although the kids are rather spoiled, aren't they--the son is so lazy and indulged he gives himself constipation. LOL. And we can tell Dalsam is not Italian can't we: "When do cuckoos sing?" So oblivious.
When Hwayoung was always complaining about her brother and her father and everyone, I thought she was yelling about her husband's family. But isn't Dong-ha her actual, blood-relation brother? This aspect of her story has me slightly confused.
