There are a few more things I’ve been meaning to post here and I’d better start getting to it before too many people drift away from the board.
One thing I wanted to do was thank all of the people who posted historical information during the run of the series. We had a bunch of people contribute things at one time or another and it made for a lot of interesting reading. I won’t name all the names, since all the posts are here permanently, but I appreciated everybody who took the time to share information. Lots of great contributions to the board.
Also wanted to thank mikey for a couple of DVD loans that got me through many of the unaired final episodes without having to watch online. And also to ducky for clueing me in on a source of fansubs that made things a lot easier for me as far as editing the episode summaries. Once I found those fansubs I didn’t have to do any more scramble-to-record-the-repeat just to catch a character name or a bit of narration.
By the way, the people who do those subs are called the “Written in the Heavens Subbing Squad” and here’s their website:

This is an amazingly dedicated group of people; they post subtitles for a lot of series and from what little I can tell, they seem to do great work. And they don’t charge for any of it. I don't know enough about this stuff to know if other people do this or where this group stands, but their work helped me out a lot and I wanted to credit them for it.
P.S. And one other thing. WOCH was very generous with their time in airing IE. The IE episodes generally ran very long. For the first couple of dozen episodes or so the station was making cuts to shorten them time-wise, but after that they made the commitment to air episodes uncut and squeezed their schedule to accommodate them. Considering what I've read about how other cities' stations have been hacking up every episode, WOCH deserves a gold star for making this extra effort for its viewers.
