Hong Ryeon's Life
HR goes to the bus station with Park Gong-mi on her way to Seoul for the next stage of the food contest, only to find that someone has bought ALL the bus tickets! There isn't a one left! She and Gong-mi start calling everyone they know trying to cadge a ride. They are a little creeped to see Su-chan hanging around; he then comes up to HR and offers her a ride to Seoul! He clearly has strong feelings for her, but he is frustrated trying to express himself in words. On the way, HR actually discovers all the missing bus tickets in the glove compartment! Pressured for an explanation, Su-chan just blurts out, "I felt like giving you a ride!"
Yoon Jang-Hwa's Life
But meanwhile, at the beginning of the episode Ms. B had just walked in on the unclothed YJH and Im Hyeok in bed. She looks on impassively, and after YJH starts shrieking she walks out. With Hyeok gone, she tries to pressure Ms. B to say what she saw, but she won't talk.
Later, however, YJH wakes up from her slumbers to find Ms. B bending over her face with a fierce expression! Ms. B, momentarily lucid, accuses her of trapping KTY into marriage by pretending to be pregnant and then pretending to have a miscarriage afterward. She threatens to tell KTY all about this.
YJH summons Jong-hae over to the house to be in charge and brusquely takes off. She goes over to her mom's house to try to talk about her troubles, and is frantic to know how the information about her faked miscarriage got out, but in the middle of the conversation her father shows up. He is dressed in a tacky light coat and panama hat and is being played as a real loser and leech. YJH is shocked that her mother is still on speaking terms with the guy, and realizes that he (and his mistress, she says) are probably getting most of the money she is giving her mom. "What does it matter if she spends it or I do?" he asks. YJH blows up and leaves, saying she won't even call her mom any more.
Later that day, as KTY's assistant comes over to the house to bring her some help - a highly recommended aide - Ms. B, in a more childlike vein, starts singing a jingle over and over - "Yoon Jang-hwa is dating …" (yeonae handeyo) "I saw her … Shame on her …." and so on. This would get irritating fast even if it were just a normal kid's jingle, so under the circumstances it starts to really drive YJH up a wall! KTY calls to say he'll be home that evening, and Ms. B tries to yell into the receiver, "Tae-yun! I have something to tell you!" JH, faced with imminent disaster, tries to figure out how to keep KTY and his mother apart if only for this evening. Ultimately she drugs her with sleeping pills.
The next morning, though, the aide finds out about the pills (which YJH stupidly left under Ms. B's bed!! She is really one of Korea's dumbest criminals - she gets by only on bluff and impulse.) YJH fires her, trying to pay her off, and gets Jong-hae to come over to the house again. But around this time, Ms. B, who now seems more incoherent than usual, drenches YJH with the shower hose, then gets out of the house unnoticed to "look for the dragon". JH gets a call from a police station to come get her. They warn her about the danger of people with dementia wandering off and such.
When they get back in the car, Ms. B, who has for the moment forgotten her jingle and her dangerous secrets and is concentrated entirely on looking for the Dragon House and its signature tree, orders YJH to drive her there. She tells her what road to take. YJH, out of other ideas, goes along, apparently just to keep her happy. It's a miserable drive, with Ms. B grabbing at the wheel the whole way. Eventually they come to a big old tree - which is not, as it turns out, particularly near the Dragon House - and Ms. B orders her to stop, and gets out to look around and try to remember things. At this point, YJH remembers what the officer said about thousands of people with dementia wandering off, unable to remember their phone numbers…. and she backs out into the road, and drives back to Seoul, leaving the confused Ms. B where she is, somewhere, a long way away. It is night when she pulls back into the driveway. End of episode.
(By the way, the show reportedly got its inspiration from a real case, whose details I know nothing of, of a woman abandoning her mother-in-law. In Confucian Korea, this is pretty much at the far end of the spectrum of evil, as you can imagine, and the "mission statement" for the show is heavy into stuff like "this may be the last generation that cares for its parents" and so on.)
