The series has been over for some time but I can’t get the abrupt ending out of my mind. I would have loved to see the remainder of King Sejong’s life: reaction of the public (adult) to the new writing system, the passing of his beloved queen, and finally his passing. I think that sometimes you have to continue with an artistic project even if it is not overwhelmingly popular. There have been many examples in history of artists who were not fully appreciated until they were long gone. Future generations may discover this series and wish it had been completed properly. Sejong was one of the greatest kings is Korean history, but I feel that his legacy was not fully honored by cutting the series short.

I agree completely, jojo. Certainly they should have given him a dignified death, at the very least. Unfortunately these kinds of network decisions are more and more driven by the bean-counters. What makes this one particularly irritating is that they cut GKS short because they didn't like the ratings, and then put on a series that was about as different from GKS as you can get...and now that series getting even worse ratings, if the latest reports are true. Those TV execs get big money because they're supposed to understand this stuff!

I too felt cheated at the end. It didn't seem complete. I wish they would have gone a few more episodes to tell the rest of the story.
