She is one of my favorite characters so far. Smart, attractive, good at her job, great personality. The sort of person you like to have as a coworker or relative.
Kinda bothers me, though; a character this good has to face some serious conflict down the line, right?

Yup; how upset is she going to be when she finds out she's adopted? Then she'll be in love with Hiro. He isn't Korean, his family lives in Japan, so that'll be a big struggle, will the families accept them, where will they live? Oh, boy. ;D

Isn't Hiro half or quarter Korean? Didn't he mention early on that he had a Korean grandmother who raised him and that's why he speaks the language so well? And Grandpa's lady friend said she has, or had, a sister in Japan. Mmm...

Jisu is my favorite character. I loved the scene with her drinking with her Dad. She is smart, sharp & pretty. She is also tall and thin which seem to be desirable attributes ( In YAMD, Bokju kept asking Yuri how she can be unhappy when she is tall and thin) I keep hoping that the writers dont do something to make her miserable for the next 3 months.

I wonder who will be the main focus of this show down the road (Home ), Jisu or Hyeonsu/Suin .
I haven't been following ahead, so to speak, but I notice that they're right about the century point for this show in Korea, which is when some major plot development that defines the rest of the show usually occurs.
Often you wouldn't suspect the plot would go that way. Case in point: in 'Bizarre Bunch' , it looked like Kiwoong was the main character, but around ep 100 it became Sukhyeon, with one of the best plot twists ever.
Hmm . . . if it's something you don't suspect, maybe the main character will be Hiro, after all .

I like Jisu a lot too. She has such a good disposition and to quote Hiro, "she's feisty".

Well… girlfriend came to mind before coworker or relative. Until I saw how much she drinks… IMO There's wayyyy too much emphasis and preoccupation with drinking on these dramas. I wouldn't mind at all if they showed people having a beer or two once in a while, but it seems a matter of course to show almost everyone drinking themselves into a stupor on a regular basis. It's almost as if the soju manufacturers are sponsoring these productions.

Years ago, I did some PR for a Korean fashion house in NYC. They were very hip, savvy folk with an excellent work ethic and generally good natured. They dressed super-cool and chatted endlessly on the phone. Every night, they went out mega drinking and every morning, they compared hangovers. I was often invited to join them but after the first time, I realized how out of my league I was. My one glass of white wine was a joke. They consumed tumblers of straight scotch or whiskey for hours and staggerd to cabs after midnight laughing. They also ate a lot and stayed thin.

Puppy, you're absolutely spot-on. There's a big drinking culture in Korea according to what I've seen. It's the same in Hong Kong and Macau. It's not mainly consumption of beer....the heavier stuff tends to be preferred if possible.I read somewhere once that the highest consumption of XO brandy,in the world,is in the Far East.Know the stuff? ....Very expensive throat heating liquid.

I was wondering about the drinking in Korea, because in every drama I have watched to date, there is always heavy drinking by at least one character. So, is alcoholism a real problem in Korea?

One thing that really srtikes me a lot lately is just how astonishingly enormous Park Hyewon's eyes are . I'm glad they're giving her lots of scenes where she has to look surprised, to show them off to good effect .

I know we've seen it in other dramas as well but how can Jisu not know how she feels about Hiro? It always puzzles me when a character says that.
