Besides being an absolute wack job, that woman is frustratingly self-centered; she'll change her views if there's something in it for her. But I have to say, that scene in the kitchen Friday (#112) was absolutely hilarious. When she's suddenly being so supportive of Suin, and even sticks up for her to Hyeonsu's mom--the way everybody is standing there gawking and staring at her like she'd turned into some kind of space alien, I couldn't stop laughing about it. And if her change of attitude sticks, then Hyeonsu's mom will be the last of the whiny holdouts against Suin. Which sure isn't how I thought it would go. Didn't everybody think the Gangster Aunt would be the last holdout? Or maybe it's just me not knowing this type of series very well. But I like that they threw us a curve to keep things from being too predictable. I've also enjoyed seeing the different ways that other characters have found to deal with her effectively. Suin is wearing her down with kindness; Miryeong talks back and then deflects her with a smile and denies doing it; Suin's mom showing humility; and Miryeong's mom standing right up to her. Not sure why the men tend to just let her yammer, but at least her father has been getting on her about it more lately. Until now, no matter what they did, she wasn't softening, I didn't think. I've been surprised that she even ignored her father. Hurray for Shinae's needing help!
