Please post any spoilers here. Episode guide provided tells you if you're ahead of Chicago. Any spoilers posted elsewhere will be removed without explanation.
There is also a thread in this forum for NY/NJ viewers, and you can post current discussions for those areas in that thread without being accused of spoiling.

Hyeonsu and his sister,Jisu are both fantastic to their parents,brother,aunt,uncle,cousins,sister-in-law and grand-dad.
The world would be a much better place if there were more people like them.

As usual, this kdrama can carry on this long because there are lots of secrets.Of course, the people who should be told, are,as always, the last to find out. Suin's step-mom is Jisu's real mom.She was married to Hyeonsu's uncle. So Hyeonsu is her nephew. He has to break up with Suin, for the moment anyways, because he thinks Suin is his first cousin.Of course,Suin isn't told,at first, the reason he has to break up with her.To add "fun" to the whole storyline,Hyeonsu and his family don't know Suin isn't her bio-daughter.So it's one great merry-go-round.Of course, the people who know the true biological relationships are keeping quiet for the usual stupid or selfish reasons. There are important misunderstandings all the time. For example,Suin's step-mom tried to attend her dead husband's memorial service but tactless and rude househelp aunt physically stopped her(including some slaps to her body!).As a result, grandpa misunderstood her thinking that she didnt care about his son.So he has not forgiven her for OVER 20 YEARS!!!So,the poor lady has lived with the guilt that her husband's family hates her.I think, all would have been okay if interfering aunt minded her own business. The worst thing of all is that she thought her baby died with her husband.Talk about secrets!!!Poor woman! The adults in the family have kept Jisu in the dark about her real parents. That is immoral. It's not like her mom was a junkie or murderess or something like that. Can we humans be that cruel?

Can somebody give me a reasonable explanation why lady doc is afraid to tell Jisu that her mom is alive? She can't be afraid of losing Jisu who's near thirty years old, very sensible and clearly adores her. She can't hate the real mom since she knows the real mom didn't abandon her baby after all. Of course it would be a shock to Jisu but a loving gift as well. Why is her stepmom being such a jerk??

I think that Jisu is a level-headed and fair person. So she'll most probably think that her dad's family were wrong to keep her away from her bio-mom all these years. They should all feel guilty to have allowed the poor lady to think she had killed her baby AND husband all this time. It's obvious that the whole family adores Jisu so they can't bear the possibility of Jisu walking away from them. She mayl also lose respect for her stepmom and the other adults.I dont think she'll be so cool about it and take it as a loving gift.Even grandpa said to keep this fact away from Jisu which may imply that he KNOWS they have wronged BOTH Jisu and her bio-mom.
Just my 2 cents.

I think that this whole thing was a miscommunication. Even the selfish aunt seemed surprised to learn that Jisu's real mother thought that Jisu was dead. It seems as though the doctors and their family thought Jisu's mother abandoned Jisu, and Jisu's mtoher thought Jisu was dead because her maternal grand-mother led her to believe that was so. As far as why the lady doc dpes not say anything to Jisu. The explanation is because the whole thing is so bizarre, and she is not confident how Jisu would react.

Dorrie
I stand corrected if Jisu's dad's family didn't realize that Jisu's bio-mom thought Jisu had died. Then her maternal grandmother is fully to blame. It'll also mean that Jisu's dad's family must have assumed Jisu's bio-mom had abandoned the little girl. That would explain why they kept this fact away from her all this time;I mean, they must have been worried that Jisu would be terribly hurt to find out she was abandoned by her mom. This would also explain why the family disliked her mom so much.Even tactless aunt's behavior,on the memorial service day,is sorta understandable!!
Lady doc is just lacking in confidence.Grandpa is wrong to have decided to keep it all quiet when lady doc told him that Jisu's bio-mom thought she was dead.Like Kdramas often say, there are NO secrets in this world.

Pilseung, that's just the way I am understanding this drama -- I think that Jisu's bio mother thought Jisu was dead because her mother told her so (meaning Jisu's maternal grandmother), and that Jisu's Aunt/Mother (the family that raised her) thought that Jisu's bio mother abandoned her.

Hmmm . . . Not a lot of activity in this thread. So, I will throw this in. I just watched the ep (95) that aired past Friday in Korea. Don't know exactly what was going on, but could gather: Hyeongsu gets an apartment (but no furniture) and moves out. His parents are VERY against him and Suin, but Suin's parents sound more accommodating. He spends the night there with a sweater as a blanket and his bag as a pillow. Suin comes over with some breakfast for him. They talk, and eventually embrace and kiss - not real passionately, but sweetly, and somewhat graphic for a daily drama (OK, not , but you could see lips meet ) Suddenly, in walk Hyeongsu's Mom and Aunt with some groceries for him . . . see you next timeOh, and Miryeong stands up to Minsu very nicely. He barks at her HEY!, and she barks back HEY!. She gets the last word, too, and he's left scratching his head in frustration.

I just watched ep 96 last night . Hyeonsu 's Auntie and Mom walked in on Hyeonsu and Suin kissing . His Auntie and Mom went ballistic on Suin , His Auntie grabbed her and pulled her hair And his Mom slapped her in the face and left .
Meanwhile Hyeonsu 's Auntie went to Suin house and gave her a tongue lashing , She then grabbed her and shook her Sumi had to stand in the middle to stop her . Hyeonsu 's Auntie pushed her down , Sumi proceeded to yell at her , Then she started screaming at the top of her lungs as usual at her mother .
Suin arrives home only to get a tongue lashing from her sister. Mom and Dad are not thrilled with the situation either . Suin's Dad gives her plane ticket , In so many words he wants her to leave . They argue then he leaves .
The next morning Suin is in her room and gets a text from Hyeonsu to meet him . She proceeds down stairs where her Mom is waiting she's on her way to see Hyeonsu Mom . Suin goes to meet Hyeonsu at a restaurant , They are talking when all of the sudden Hyeonsu pulls a pink box out of his jacket pocket , And puts it on the table and pops the question to Suin . Will she accept ? Stay tuned ...........

Here, we're somewhere in the twenties episode-wise, I think. Hyeonsu just stopped Suin from going to New Zealand and said he will tell his mother about her as soon as his dad is better. Can't believe that we have some 60-70 episodes to go of sameold/sameold. We all know they'll be together in the end but it's the HOW that keeps us watching.
Can we have some spoilers about Jisu and Hiro, please? Soju started a thread about how good she is and I wanted to reply that I was bummed when she sided with her mom about Hyeonsu and Suin. I thought Jisu was a modern gal, savvy about the real world, respectful of tradition but less bound by it. But I didn't want to post a spoiler.

The episode your speaking of would be episode 45 . There 100+ episodes to this kdrama . I do get a little weary of the Hyeonsu and Suin story line at times , But Hyeonsu is so easy on the eyes it keeps you from falling a sleep .
I like Hiro and Jisu story line , Its coming together slowly but surely . In the Episodes to come more details will be revealed about Jisu 's birth and Hiro's family . Its so hilarious when they are together ex specially when Hiro makes her jealous .

How right you are, Bo! I'm already weary of the Suin/Hyeonsu thing and looking to Jisu/Hiro for some relief. Please send it along, anyone who cares to. I'm afraid I'm going to drop out of this drama because, to my mind, the obsessional parental manipulations of the central relationship defies belief, even for S.Korea.

Here we are on ep 55 ., But I'm way past that I'm on ep 103 . here are a couple of spoilers , I don't want to give it all away . So I wont say which eps . Hyeonsu 's grandfather tells Hyeonsu Suin's mom is his Aunt . Hyeonsu finds out that Suin's mom is not her real mom . Suin will lose the baby . Jisu finally tells Hiro how she feels about him but keeps it secret from everyone else . Suin and Hyeonsu will marry without blessing of Hyeonsu 's parents .
