So in the end Sabyeok becomes "Cornea Girl" once again with her transplant foundation. Not too shabby, but wouldn't it have been nicer to use Miok's name instead of her own? I guessed wrong thinking she would use the money for the orphanage she grew up in, or if not, to open a new one sponsored by her Uncle, especially since he and his wife just adopted Bokdu. It also seems there would be a lot more orphans in need than people waiting for corneas. As someone else mentioned, it's frustrating to see 170+ episodes of infighting and mean spirited behavior and then have the writers gloss over it all in the last 2 episodes with literally a pretty as a picture ending. I do think Yuna did an excellent job for her first attempt at acting… way better than her singing in GG. But my favorite moment of the whole show had to be Charles dancing with the rose in his mouth to cheer up Minjeong… ;D and then telling Bokju he "loved her" when he was leaving for Africa.

Right, Zorro, helping orphans would be good. They even could have done something to help kids get adopted. They had 2 good stories about adoption in the family, too. Or would that have been too disturbing to the public, to push adoption?
We never even saw Miok's other family. They didn't get to say goodbye. Why did they have to kill her off? It would have been fine if her family came to Korea for a vacation and to meet the big sister, then they all would go back to the US.
We didn't see Yuri grow up and become less selfish and snobby.
Subin's doctor boyfriend didn't even get to come back. Did they shorten this drama?

Ginny, did you just sat SHORTEN this drama?? It sure did not seem to be shortened - it was quite the formulaic ending for a K-drama - all things get whitewashed and forgiven or forgotten in the last two episodes. It's really an aggravating way to end so many of these shows. I don't know why so many of them are written this way unless it's what the Korean public wants to see. After all, these shows are produced for Korean audiences and if that's what they like, that's what they and we, in turn, get. But shorten this - - how many more episodes would it take to include ALL the loose ends? I do agree that her American family should have come to Korea to meet Sabby or at least been on the way even if they arrived AFTER her death. How old were her boys? All in all, the end as usual was not quite the satisfying end we all would have preferred. But . . at least IT IS FINALLY OVER.

In spite of all its' problems and quirks, I'm still glad that I watched it, and in a way, enjoyed this series.

I only saw a tiny bit of this series but am sorry to hear that so many people here were unhappy with it.
I guess the cornea-transplant-foundation ending was appropriate, because apparently...the show lacked vision!

I think most of us are sorry and lacked vision for watching this until the end. One of the worst parts was Miok dying. That and the fact that Sabby waited until she had one foot in the grave to show the slightest bit of concern for her mother. The more MJ hated her, the more Sabby tried to please her. Yet the more Miok tried to make up for things to her daughter, the more Sabby hated her. The whole deal with the bone marrow was stupid. Both women could have lived. It made me sick to see Miok's death quickly glossed over. MJ should have stayed at the temple for at least a year or more to repent. MJ going from total witch to kind-hearted and caring? Give me a break! I hated the pathetic ending to this pathetic drama.

I said it in another post but I think Miok had to die for her sin of abandoning Sabby even tho she tried hard to make up for it in the end. And the writers allowed evil MIL to live because she supposedly did all that nasty for the sake of her family's honor. But I didn't believe her transformation for one minute. She tries to save Miok to assuage her guilt; so she can feel better about "perfect" herself. She never once says Thank-you to Sabyeok or apologises for her cruelty. The whole wrap-up didn't ring true.

I thought the whole character transformation of MIL was bogus. Sabby really should have named the foundation after Miok, that's who she got the money from that enabled her to do it. And where was Miok's hubby and American family? I really wanted DR. Nam to make an appearance for Subin-she was my favorite.

This drama showed that evil people catch the breaks and get second chances but the good or more deserving don't. It also was a great lesson in how to be a fool and a doormat. Sabby was the biggest one I've ever seen. I don't think her taking the constant cruelty was admirable or saintly but stupid. MJ was nasty to her entire family. Why did they allow her to act so disgusting and obnoxious? They enabled her bad behavior. How many times did she throw Yuri out on the street? She constantly looked down her nose at the Kim family except when she needed something from them. Yunhui was understandably upset with her father at first but eventually showed love and compassion towards him. He caused trouble after he came back into her life, he even stole money from her wallet. Yet she accepted him and not because he was dying. The foundation should have been named in Miok's honor. It was a bit sickening watching Taepung and Grandma salivating over the money Miok left them. Why even mention a letter from Dr.Nam and not say what was in it? Was he on his way back from Africa? It would have been nice if he had made an appearance at the end and asked Subin to marry him. Did anyone care Sabby was possibly pregnant? The baby's first words will probably be "I'm sorry"!

I agree that the worst part was watching Miok die in that awful hospital bed. My theory is that she was the only character in the whole cast with a brain in her head, and since she didn't match the "density" displayed by everyone else, she had to go. Miok basically stole the show in the end, and was the only one I cared anything about. If Puppy's right and she was being punished for leaving Sujin, then it'll be interesting to see what happens to Yeongju and Insun in "My Precious You". Tink, I think Jiyeong from LON was a much bigger doormat than Sabby, but everything else you said is spot on. The part I'll still never figure out is how Taeyoung and Soyeong both won best actor awards for those performances.

Did they really win for those performances!!?? Hers was one-note all the way through and his very hack - grit your teeth when you're angry, grin when you're happy, hang your head when you're embarrassed.
Did anyone else in this drama win? I can access the KBS awards show on loine but only in Korean so I don't really know who's winning what.

Yuna won for her "sorry" performance.
Not sure about anyone else.

At this point, now that it's over, let's just say, "RIP", and on to the next one, which seems to be better, at least at thus far.
