“My Precious You” is the new KBS weekend drama that (probably) will follow “Mom’s Dead Upset.” It’s starting off pretty well, and it features a twist on an old subject: this show deals with the tough lives facing single fathers.
I missed the first few episodes (much to my regret - it’s proving to be a good show) so if I’ve got anything wrong here, please call me on it, and I’ll correct it.

Note: 50 episodes total have been scheduled.
The Jang Family
Bottom Right: Jang Ilnam. One of the show’s two featured single dads, played by actor Park In-hwan, whom we all remember as the flaky mamma’s boy in “Daughters in Law.” He’s not flaky at all in this show, having honorably raised his three, now-grown children by himself. He works for a milk distribution company.
Bottom Left: Jang Inho. The eldest daughter, played by actress Lee Tae-ran. She’s good natured, but a little tough and tomboyish, perhaps a result of having grown up in an all-male household. Even her name (“Inho”) seems usually associated with boys rather than girls. Inho works as a producer for “HBS Radio.”
Side note: Lee Tae-ran seems awfully damn skinny here - I wonder who the idiot was that told the curvaceous LTR to shed all the beautiful curves she once had?
Top Left: Jang Sinho. The Playboy Dentist. Just returned from his military service (working in a public health office) and has just started work at a big dental clinic. He jumps from woman to woman, enjoying himself and seeming quite certain that he’ll never actually get married.
Top Right: Jang Jinho. Nicknamed “Tigger.” Youngest sibling, studying interior design at the university. Seems like a good kid, and he helps his father at work when he can. He’s crazy in love with Baek Jaera (see below) who constantly takes advantage of his good nature.
The Baek Family
Bottom Left: Baek Junsik. Self-made millionaire record producer. He’s something of a pompous jerk, but he otherwise seems decent enough. Smothers his unfortunate wife with so much unwanted attention that she's about to go crazy.
Bottom Right: Nam Juri. The wife and mother. Though she’s constantly buttering up her husband, she seems to secretly think he’s a dumb, smelly hayseed. She married him at age 21, so it must have been true love, but his irritatingly obsessive behavior towards her is wearing thin.
Top Left: Baek Sera. Eldest daughter, played by actress Yoo In-yeong whom we all remember as the spoiled “Sua” in “Likable or Not.” Here, she’s a responsible young woman, working as a dentist in the same office as Sinho. She seems to have some feelings for him, but they aren’t returned. He likes her, but only as a colleague.
Top Right: Baek Jaera. Spoiled younger daughter, supposedly attending the university, but mostly goofing around. She walks all over nice-guy Jinho, and basically uses him as her servant.
Other Characters
Jeonseol. Single dad #2. A faded superstar (played by actor Kim Sung-soo) whom Inho attempts to recruit to host a radio show. He has a questionable reputation, but he clearly loves his two kids, Eunu and Jiu.
Kim Bori. Naïve but sincere, she’s crazy in love with the Playboy Dentist Sinho. She’s determined to marry him, whether he likes it or not.
Park Jemma. Inho’s co-worker at the radio station, played by actress Yoon Hae-young, whom K-drama fans will remember from shows like “So This is Love,” and “One Million Roses.” She’s direct and to the point, even more so than Inho.
Song Insun. Mystery woman. She owns a high-class restaurant, and seems quite well off. Her identity will be disclosed soon into the show.
(no photo) Seo Yeongju. Ex-wife of Jeonseol. Yeongju seems NOT to be a nice woman. I’m not sure, but she seems to be related to Baek Junsik. Perhaps she is his sister?
