I am in NY and up to ep 123 so I will not give any specifics. I am tired of SB not standing up for herself. She has been slapped, had water thrown in her face, been screamed at by Yeonsil, Subin & Mrs Kang, almost banished to Russia, had her work at Lohas destroyed and all she does is cry and say I'm sorry. I like Subin and Yuri because they will do anything to get what they want. Subin may be nasty and cruel but she goes for what she wants in any way possible. Yuri is totally nuts but she does what she wants to achieve her goal. I know the SB is the heroine and in the last show she will get Hosae but I have had it with her.

What those of us who, like you, are truly tired of hearing that all too familiar "I'm sorry" being said constantly and in response to really unjust accusations, We all need to try to understand the character of Sabby - She was ABANDONED as a small child, grew up in an orphanage, had no funds to enrol in college, was blinded in an accident, had eye/s transplant and finally became part of a family. Above all, she wants desperately to become a kitchen designer and be recognized for her ability. She is TOTALLY lacking in self-esteem and it's no wonder with the Korean attitude toward orphans. Obviously, not ALL Koreans think of orphans as second class citizens but some still do. In spite of that, the Kim family have opened their hearts and home to Sabby and she feels truly blessed to have them in her life. Sometimes, though, that self-depradation she feels is rigidly enforced by Hosea's mother, who is an outright WITCH, spelled with a B. I do wish Sabby could hold her own once in a while but the times she has tried to do that, she was just shot down by the other party . . . so??? what's the point? It's obvious that some of the attitudes of the elders are "old fashioned" and many Koreans would find them onerous. But there are still some who cling to the old ways and beliefs that the mother can dictate to her child anything she wants the child to do and that child MUST obey. We can still hope that Sabby will finally figure out that she means the world to many, many people who have great respect and love for her. I don't know if the writers will accomplish this or not . . we'll see.

I'm with you, dodgerman, I am tired of this whole drama. I can't stand the doormat personality, which seems to appear in a lot of these dramas. The week-end drama in the NY area (I'm in NJ) , Mom's Dead Upset, is soooo much better!

Oh, K-drama business as usual . . . I would just like to take Hosae's mother and . . . . make her watch, listen and FEEL the pain she has caused the people in her life . . more than anything else, she is oblivious to anything except her own wants and desires . . she truly makes me sick . . .she is one ugly hearted person . .

The week-end drama in the NY area (I'm in NJ) , Mom's Dead Upset, is soooo much better! I completely agree. Mom's Dead Upset has some of the same plot elements but the writing is so much more mature; most of the characters there actually behave like fairly normal human beings. I'm pretty much watching YAMD because the writing is so bad it becomes funny/entertaining to me. The drama has the feel of something that was planned for about 50 episodes but was extended and instead of adding new plot points they just stretched out the story as originally planned.
