I'm rather surprised but happy about the turn around in Taepung. He was pretty heartless in the beginning to Saebyeok. Now he's nice to her (most of the time), protective of her and seems to be attracted to her. What a change of heart.

Here, I think the writers developed his character in a very natural way. He still has that hard edge to him, and I feel that is correct for his character. He plays it great. In Wonderful Life, he plays a totally different personality type. He has a great range, I feel.

Isn't he the boy with the cast on his arm? If so, he's being mean and bratty to his brother. Shouldn't he be polite just because he's younger? I'm surprised the older brother has been so patient with him. I think the younger one needs a smack, myself. Must be he feels guilty so he puts up with that nonsense- phone grabbing, and lecturing Soyeong-she's older too.

Apparently, Taepung (the younger) brother objects because he feels it would disrespect the family if his brother married an older woman who was an unmarried teenage mother, who now has her own teenage daughter.
I would guess this is a taboo situation.

LOL Kumbis! -fans-
Yes, but I agree with Ginny, most of the time the way is which Taepung talks to Taeyeong, and everyone in general, is very disrespectful and over the top. He's much like his grandmother.

DITTO! Taeyeong is too nice and shouldn't be putting up with his younger brother trying to control his life and boss him around. He should be happy for his older brother and try to help him in this situation.

He's getting very annoying. Why doesn't he stay out of everyone's love life and get a real job so he can help the family out.

Taepung might be annoying, but Taeyoung has to develop some starch in his backbone, also.
It's funny, but I really like the actor playing Taepung from former shows, and it almost seems as if I want to forgive his short-comings.

So Taepung finally admitted he likes Saebyeok although she didn't hear what he said.

It's funny how she just brushes it off actually. "Oh, he likes me... Let me just ignore him so hopefully his feelings go away." It's like, okay... are they really adults? His voice is actually more annoying to me than his personality. Boy can SCREAM. Not politely explain how he feels or just take her to the side and let her know if he finds something she says or does displeasing. Rather he resorts to raising his voice loud enough to scare the poor girl in hopes of subduing any chance of rebellion. I like his character overall. His heart's in the right place though his head isn't. Lover boy really needs to get a job as tinkerbell so well-versed it. If he wants to be taken seriously by SaeByeok or any girl in her right mind he needs to get a job, get rid of that ridiculous girly-looking haircut, and soften up his yelling a bit. That should do the trick. Who knows she might actually pay attention to him.... No, no chance.

Bae, I've got to say I disagree with you on 2 points. First, women are generally stupid when it comes to love, and they'll fall for all kinds of men -- unemployed men, prisoners, axe murders -- it doesn't matter. When a woman thinks she loves a man, she'll follow him wherever he is, and whatever stupid path he wants to take. Secondly, I think Taepung's hair style is very good looking, and very fashion forward. I also thing the stylist on the show, who selects his wardrobe, is aces!

I'm with you, Door!
Taepung is the angry, brooding type certain girls are drawn to and the hair and clothes fit right in. His brother, on the other hand, the older professor type, seems silly. Unlike Taepung, he doesn't say what he feels, only "I'm sorry" to his girl and "I'm sorry" to his mom, neither of whom he wants to offend. At least Taepung speaks his mind.
I wonder what Naeyong (sp?) his twin, was like? From what everybody says, she was sweet-tempered. Maybe Taepung's personality got a little edgy after she died.

Secondly, I think Taepung's hair style is very good looking, and very fashion forward. I also thing the stylist on the show, who selects his wardrobe, is aces! LOL, door. If Tae-Pung finds said "stupid woman" who'd follow him no matter what "stupid path" he embarks on, they'd have my warmest wishes. But Tae-Pung's family and he himself admitted on several occasions maybe he needs to do something else with his life. Which he's on a good start to doing. I think he's a good-natured individual. Any woman who snags him would be lucky because he would always be there to protect her and would fight for their love if need be. And in respect to his wardrobe, I like it too! It suits his character. But the hair... not so much. But, to each his own. Like I said, I am a huge fan of Tae-Pung's personality. I think he's got the edge you mentioned and he's got the guts. I like how he just plain tells SB how he feels as opposed to trying to tip-toe around it. And I like his bouts of anger, which suit the actor and actually make him look endearing. Nothing wrong with Tae-Pung IMO. I like the guy. I just don't like his voice.... But nothing says I have to. I started watching the show for two people actually. Tae-Pung and Su-Bin. Not to mention Su-Bin's parents are fun to watch as well.

I like watching Subin's parents too, Bae. I think Subin's mother really lights up the screen when she is on! Her facial expressions are right on target. I think she's charming, despite the fact that she's not the 'goody goody" character.
